Jace

     I am sitting here waiting to hear anything about my wife.  I am about to run back there.  I stand up and head that way but Prez grabs my shoulder to stop me.  Prez said "Not now they are doing what needs to be done and you going back there may interfer with that."  Shit he is right.  I just want to know what's going on it's been awhile.  I hear the doors open and see her doctor come out.  She asks "Jace is it okay if I discuss with everyone here?"  I tell her yes they are family because they are.  Doctor says "She is out of surgery and you have a son.  Your son is struggling right now they are working on him to get him stable.  I have put Cherise in ICU due to her blood pressure not responding.  I think it would be best if you go and see her that might help her.  I will let you both know something as soon as I find out about your son."  I am freaking out now.  I have a son but he is struggling and my wife is too.  I follow the doctor into the back to be with Cherise.  I get into the room and I see she is crying.  I walk over to her and hug her tight.  I tell her how much I love her.  Cherise starts screaming "I want my baby, I want my baby Jace!"  She will not calm down the doctor tells me they will have to sedate her because she can not be this upset with her high blood pressure.  I watch as they administer the medicine and slowly her sobs calm down.  I see her eyes close.  I walk over and clean her tears off her face.  I sit there for awhile with her.  The nurse comes in and I ask her to stay with Cherise for a few minutes so I can go tell the family what's going on. 

     I get in the waiting area and explain about what happen with Cherise.  Then it all hit me at once.  I fall to my knees and start crying.  Veronica wraps me in a hug trying to comfort me.  Prez walks over and pulls me up and hugs me.  Prez says "Cherise is a very strong woman.  You know that boy will be too.  You have to be strong for the both of them."  I take a minute to myself and then say my worst fear "I don't think Cherise will make it through this if something happens to our son Prez.  She is so broken right now and you know what hell she has been through before."  Blade comes over to me and says "Cherise is stronger than you think Jace.  We are all here for you and her."  I then looked around and saw that Brick, Tank, Penny and so many others where in the waiting room.  My big family was here to support my little family.  I tell them all to go home that I will let them know something as soon as we are updated.  I hugged my sister bye and then headed back to sit with Cherise. 

Cherise

     I hear beeping noises and open my eyes to see Jace asleep in the chair.  I feel my belly because it's hurting then I remember that they took the baby.  I start to panic when I look around but I don't see our son.  I yell at Jace "Jace where is our son?"  He startles awake then comes over to me.  Jace tells me that our son has been moved to a pediatric hospital.  I have so many questions now.  I ask "What do you mean Jace? What's wrong with him?"  Jace pushes the nurses button and tells her I am awake.  A few minutes later the doctor comes in.  She introduces another doctor with her but all I want to know is how is my baby.  The other doctor says "I was the one taking care of your son.  I did get him stable but we discovered an issue with his heart.  Our hospital is not equipped to handle it as well as Pinewood Pediatric Hospital so we had him flown out.  The last update from the doctor is you son has done well with the medication they gave him.  As soon as you can travel there he will explain more to you and your options."  I look to Jace and then at my doctor.  I ask her " How soon can you get the discharge papers ready because I am leaving?"  Jace and my doctor both try talking me out of leaving but I will not be staying here while my baby is somewhere else. 

Jace

     I knew as soon as she heard she would demand to be discharged.  I tell her "Cherise baby I have Veronica and Blade staying at the hospital with our son until you are better so you can go."  Cherise shocked me by saying "I don't give a fuck!  I am his mother and I will be leaving here with or without you!"  Okay so momma bear has come to play.  I look at her doctor and tell her to get us the papers and some medicine to help her while we travel up to be with our son.  I then call Prez and inform him what the plans are.  He lets me know he called in a favor and will have a private plan waiting for us at the airport so Cherise will not have to traveling for so long in her condition.  I help Cherise dress into some clothes then help her into the wheelchair.  She is trying to hold it together.  I help her into the SUV then head to the airport.  We get settled on the plane and now are headed to go see our son. 

Three months later

Cherise

     I am sitting in the hospital room with our boy.  I have not left his side since I got here with him.  The doctor has just finished his examination.  I am sitting on pins and needles right now.  I asked "Doctor will he need surgery or has the medication helped?"  He looks up from the paper he is staring at and says "Well it looks like little man here has responded well and for now does not need surgery.  We will keep a check on things.  I will need you to bring him in every three months to begin with then once I feel he is doing better we will move it to 6 months to check his heart."  I am so excited!  I ask the one big question "So does that mean we can take him home now?"  The doctor looks to me with a big smile and says "Yes mam you sure can."  I jump up and down because this is the best news ever.  Oh I have got to call Jace and let him know.  The doctor leaves and I reach over to pick up my boy as I call his daddy.  Jace answers "Hey baby, everything alright?"  I start ugly crying and I hear Jace freaking out on the phone.  Jace says "Baby calm down we will get through this.  I am on my way right now let me tell Prez what's going on.  I love you so damn much."   I calm down enough to say "Honey bring the carseat so you can take our son home with us." I hear Jace screaming in the background "Fuck yes! Do you hear that Prez?  I am going to get my boy!"  I laugh and tell my husband how much I love him.  I start packing up the room waiting on him to get here. 

Jace

     I have been so excited about picking my boy up.  I pull into the hospital and run to his room.  I get in there and see my beautiful wife holding my little man.  I walk up to them and give them both big hugs.  I kiss my boy on his head and kiss my wife on her lips.  I am happy to be taking them home.  I have missed my family.  I have had to go back home to work so I have missed them.  I help my wife load everything on a trolley and carry it all to my car.  I go back up and grab my precious family.  I get them settled into the vehicle and we head home.  I look in my rearview mirror and smile at Cherise.  She smiles big at me.  She is such a wonderful mother. 

     I pull up to the house and go to help Cherise get out with our son.  I see the brothers have put a big sign in the yard.  It reads "WELCOME HOME JAX!"  I can't help but smile at that.  I pick up my son and carry him into our house.  I carry him into his room.  I sit in the rocker with him.  I tell my boy welcome home Jaxon Rylan Cryer.  I see Cherise come in and she climbs in my lap too. I am one happy man right now.  I kiss Jax's head and then hold my wife close.  I never thought this day would come.  I hear a knock on our front door.  I get up as we all make our way to see who is here.  I open the door to see Veronica, Blade, Prez, Ruby, Brick, Tank and Penny.  Then I hear the roar of the motorcycles as the whole club rides by giving us a wave.  We all go back in the house so they can all see our beautiful Jax.
