"Yes mom I had breakfast- 

No I am not going anywhere with a knife-

Bye I don't want to be late." I said before shutting down my phone. She could make it explode just with all her messages. It wasn't my first job. Just the first one which could be permanent. That's it. Thank God I was already heading to the company. It was a beautiful monday morning and it felt quite peaceful and enriching. I hope it was going to stay like throughout the day.

"Goodmorning miss. I am Amarine Lukewarm the new Chief of Management and Finances." I said politely to the lady at the reception. She was of a fair tone with her hair styled into a low bun with two strands shading her diamond-shaped face.

"Oh yeah surely. I've been waiting for you. Follow me please." She said as she stood up leading me the way. We entered the elevator and she pressed the button to to the eleventh floor.

"The eleventh floor is the floor for all the directors and chiefs in the different departments. The twelveth is for the CEO and the meetings. Below you have all the floors for the different divisions but i don't think you will have the occasion to take a look."

"Oh okay I see. It's pretty well organized." I smiled. She was being nice and I didn't want to seem like I didn't care. Rare are the people who help others on their first day.

"And for lunch you can go to the third floor there you will find anything you want as food is concerned. Oh and I didn't present myself. I am Lena Joey. You can choose whatever suits you best." She said turning to me.

"Joey. I think it's cute" I stated before the doors of the elevator opened. It gave way to a sumptuous black and white corridor with the walls decorated with paintings and drawings of outdoors. Sophisticated. We walked to the 5th office. I waited outside as she searched for the keys in her pocket.

"Here we go" she said handing the keys to me. "Your assistant is surely on her way and she will give you all what you need. Have a nice start." she said before storming off. I think they are pretty demanding here. 

I entered my office and put down my handbag. It had the same theme as that of the corridors. I even had a white board and a coffee maker. That was cool. My desk was made out of a fine furniture and curved in an "L". I had a sofa which I assumed was to be used whenever I have guests. I headed to my desk and sat. I never had such a comfortable seat. I glanced at the notes on the desk having the Wi-Fi password and the password to the three macbooks staring at me. I was so busy looking at all what had been offered to me that I didn't realize my boss was in.

"Suits you?" I heard a male voice say. I looked up to see Artagatis Chancewood. I wasn't the type to overreact so yeah I stayed still.

"Perfectly." I answered smiling. A light smile. Not flirty. 

"I hope you will suit me too." That sentence could have been interpreted very oddly by somedy else but okay I am not going to overthink and even if I had questions he went out as soon as he let out those words. Typical of men who are billionaire. Arrogant. 

I was snatched out of my thoughts when my assistant came in. Older than me. I was embarassed but well at least I couldn't treat her as shit. 

"Goodmorning and I'm really sorry for my lateness traffic jam is wild outside" she said in a strike.

"Oh don't worry I've just entered. I am Amarine." I said standing.

"Beatrice Lepain. And yes I'm French" she said smiling.

"I like your name. So Joey told me you're supposed to fill me in with all that I'm supposed to know and where I should start so here I am." I said sitting back down.

"Oh yeah but can I make you coffee first? How do you like it?" She said reaching out for the cup by the coffee maker.

"Oh no it depends on my mood each day so don't worry about that. I'd rather prefer you get me croissants some days in the week. I'm sure you know where we can find some good croissants." I said playfully.

"Yeah sure."
