Dressed in heavy plain black mourning clothes we arrived at the tower.
We were then greeted solemnly by the attendants as we were being accompanied by the Dalten Knights.
"Kaya mo palang tumahimik."
"Of course, Your Highness. Anong tingin mo sakin?" Muntikan ko pa siyang irapan sa inis.
He chuckled.
"Do you personally know the Viridian Princess?" pag-iiba niya ng tanong.
Nag-isip ako saglit.
"No. And I don't think we ever had the chance to be friends."
"So why do you want to attend the funeral? Even giving up the chance to live in the palace just to get a chance to be here? Why would you do that?"
Huminga ako ng malalim at tumingin lang ng diretso sa ulap na mukhang nagluluksa din dahil mukhang uulan.
Boses lang ng Crown Prince ang maririnig sa madilim na halls papunta sa greenhouse kung saan ginaganap ang lamay ng namayapang asawa ng Viridian Princess. Tahimik ang estate ng Viridian Princess.
"I just don't get it," exasperated niyang dagdag.
"You don't need to get it, Crown Prince. Ayaw mo no'n, you had a reason to kick me out."
"You wouldn't do something like this. You were obsessed with me," animated niyang sabi.
I stifled a laugh. My goodness. Hindi ko kinakaya.
"I wouldn't be shocked if one day you'd ask to break off our engagement. Magtataka na talaga ako."
I stopped for a moment at napatigil. Dahan-dahan akong napasulyap sa paparating din na pares and with them they were accompanied by Dransen Knights.
My eyes landed on Davin Madlock.
He was dashingly handsome in his Dransen Knights uniform.
Nakatitig lang ako sa kan'ya nang maramdaman kong sinundan na ng Crown Prince ang tingin ko ay doon siya nagsalita.
"Don't tell me you're falling for another man while our arms our locked?" The Crown Prince laughed incredulously.
Pakiramdam ko namula ako.
"Shut up!" I muttered under my breath.
I slightly pulled his arms to stop him from getting all the unnecessary attention we didn't need.
Lalo siyang natawa.
"I can't believe it Solasta! You really fell for somebody else! Sa gwapo kong 'to, nakahanap ka pa ng iba?"
"You don't always fall for looks, Your Highness. Masyado ka kasing vain. Nakalimutan mo yung ugali mo."
He couldn't stop laughing.
"You were really gonna break off our engagement aren't you?"
"Actually no. Kailangan mong magdusa with me."
Para siyang hindi makapaniwala na sinuklay ang buhok.
Hand in hand, tahimik na ang Crown Prince while he was leading the way. My aides at my side while the Dalten Knights followed a coordinated line behind.
They stopped and greeted us.
Kuya Maxel bowed before the Crown Prince. While his wife stood. I expected her to curtsy.
