Chapter 16
A stroll

Katani always was the stronger sibling. Stronger mentally, stronger physically, stronger emotionally. Yet he could smile at everyone and mean it. He killed so many with a heavy hand, yet could care with an open heart. I may have been Houndblood of the five heroes, but my brother was the red demon. A being stronger than destiny herself. He worked in the shadows, fighting those who would have caused more distress or complications. He was my younger brother and I barely acknowledged him. I failed him..
And I killed him.

"Miss Valley-Claire. If I may ask, how long does it usually take to manufacture an article of clothing?" Sula asked Valley-Claire while she drew. I sat in the corner, trying to comprehend what happened in the meeting yesterday.
"Usually a few days or so, for an entire outfit it could be a week or two." She replied, looking at Sula in a puzzled manner.
"I see. Now if it's alright for me to know, what are you working on?" Sula asked politely. Valley-Claire responded by holding the paper up by Sula, then made a sound of shock.
"Eureka! That's what was missing!" She yelled suddenly, scribbling something onto the page.
"I… don't get it.?" Sula mentioned. Valley-Claire immediately spoke up, holding the paper up.
"I know exactly how to make your la Resistance uniforms now! It's all just a quick find of fabrics and some colour matching!" She yelled with excitement.
"Miss Valley-Claire, you can't be serious. A group uniform would hinder our abilities, especially if it's bulky." Sula reminded her. Valley-Claire did not like that answer.
"Well, little goo ghost. The fabric I intend to use is known as tung-silk, which is strong as tungsten and light as silk. Each outfit will be made in reference to your old ones- while being twenty times lighter, fifty times stronger and much better looking." She said, making note of our measurements.
"So, think super spy bullet proof suits. That's made with tung-silk." She added. I was shocked she knew that much about a simple fabric.
"Apocalipse, did you need anything? You've been pretty quiet recently." Sula asked me. She wasn't wrong, I haven't said a word in almost a week now. I've honestly just been lost in thought.
"Yeah, I'm okay."
I'm not. I've been reliving my brothers death every time I close my eyes, all while trying to fight my own nightmares of a past life. I can't do this. I hate it so much. I can't stand this torture.

Leave me to die…

"What did you say, Brother?" I heard him ask. I had gotten my leg jammed between two river rocks, unable to move.
"I said leave, go get an adult or something!" I shouted at him. He ran towards me in a panicked fit, then tried for a second time to get me free.
"Katani! It's no use! Run for your life you bumbling fool!" I continued to yell. He didn't listen.
We both knew it was getting closer.
But he didn't run.
A russeling noise came from the bush.
We're done for.
A small rabbit hopped into sight, with long ears and a bushy tail.
"Is… that what we were running from?" Katani asked, confused. I nodded. It seems I mistook a rabbit for a bear, somehow.
"Yeah, I thought it was something much bigger. Sorry for panicking right away, brother."
After we finally got my leg unstuck, we went back home where we told our senses everything. He laughed at us, then began to teach a very important lesson.
"Even the smallest animals can create the most terrifying illusions. Remember that, as someday, it may save your life."
It would have, it could have.

All I needed to remember was illusion.

"Ooh Pockiiii! I need your measurements!" A voice called out to me. I was disturbed by the sudden nickname, but read them out.
"Thirty-nine, Thirty-one, Forty-two." I said. A cat-call-like whistle came from the doorway, then the woman spoke.
"Ooooh bottom heavy. Not bad measurements. Not bad at all." She said, causing me to suddenly blush.
"I don't think that's something you say to a person in grief MissValley-Claire." Sula muttered. Valley-Claire immediately started to apologise for her words and for my loss.
"It's alright Valley-Claire, it happened a bit ago now-"
"Two weeks ago is not a bit ago, Apocalipse. Don't lie to her, especially since she probably already knew." Sula interrupted. Valley-Claire glared at Sula, then began to speak.
