~ Harry ~
As far as new adventures go, yesterday may have been our best. Only, the consequences of Ariana's earlier actions has lead to where I was now, seated outside of Doctor Stevens' office with only a door separating Ariana and I.
Our day followed smoothly, I sat with Grace behind the panel with a pen in hand and a notepad in the other. My job was simply to observe Ariana and make notes on her behaviour, as if I wasn't already doing it. Only this time, I was getting paid and minus the creepy aspect of constantly staring at the beautiful girl, she is after all my ex girlfriend who I still very much love. I'm willing to watch her till death do us part, it's all I ever really did when we were together.
And here I was doing it yet again, watching her or at least trying to watch her through this door between us.
Through the translucent glass of the door window, I could make out two figures silhouetted against the downcast of the sun. One of which belonged to Doctor Stevens who was pacing in his leisure while Ariana was sat in the chair in front of his desk.
Their garbled speech sent me in a whirlwind of curiosity as to what was going to happen to Ariana. There was no doubt that she would be reprimanded for skipping a session, but they had been in the room for over an hour now and I was gaining a cramp in my lower left butt cheek from all my seating. Of course, nothing could compare to Ariana's frightful expression the moment Doctor Stevens called her to his office when we exited the research room this afternoon.
At last the door opened and Ariana, head bowed and hands folded in front of her, exited with a sheepish smile on her face. I stood up immediately and joined her side.
"I'll see you tonight Ariana." Doctor Stevens spoke one last time, smiling as well, so the looks of it nothing too bad had happened in there.
Ariana gave him a slight nod before he closed the door, then turned to me, releasing a harboured sigh as if she had held it in.
"That was terrifying." She murmured as she brushed passed me and sat herself down where I had previously sat.
"What happened?" I asked her.
"Well I got a warning," She sighed, "I'm not allowed to miss a session unless it's a medical emergency, like I'm sick or dying. Also if I do need to leave, I need permission from my supervisor and him."
"Aren't I your supervisor?" I questioned.
"Yeah," She sighed, "What's done is done. Anyways, I accepted my punishment. I have to stay late tonight with the doctors so they can gather information for the session I missed."
I sat back and wrapped my arm around her, feeling her small form melt into my own as she shifted closer to me.
"I'm sorry love," I whispered, rubbing her shoulder as I kissed her temple, "I can wait for you, if you want."
"No," She shook her head, sighing, "He won't allow you after hours. Interns are only needed during regular hours. Plus I don't want you staying behind because of me, you should go home and rest. I'll be fine here."
"But it will be late when you go home and I don't like knowing you're alone." I told her.
"I won't be alone," She murmured, "Doctor Castillo is staying behind because the other doctors didn't volunteer."
"I don't like this, Ariana. I don't trust him," I shook my head, sighing, "If it's only him staying behind, and knowing what he has said about you, what if he tries something?"
