~ Harry ~

When the doorbell rang I knew it was time. I breathed deeply and approached the door, my hands shaking as I slowly opened the door.

Dressed in a pale beige trench coat, Sian smiled through tired eyes as I stepped aside. "Come in." I said, allowing her to slip through before shutting the door behind her. "Thanks for coming in short notice. I know it's really late."

"It's fine Harry, I wasn't falling asleep anytime soon as it was." She smiled as she removed her coat. "So, go on. What did you want to talk about at one in the morning?"

I scratched the back of my neck, "Maybe you should sit down." I said, motioning to the sofa behind her. She nodded slowly and did so, folding her leg over the other as she clasped her hands together in her lap.

Expecting me to begin speaking, she stared up at me calmly. I tensed-- her eyes seemed cold, reading me like a book. I didn't know what page to start on.

"Sian we've been together now for three months," I started. "but we've known each other for almost a year. Do you remember the day we first met?"

She nodded, "Yes I do. You were quiet and looked pissed off because you had to show me the way." She smiled at her own words. "What's that got to do with anything?" She asked.

"I barely spoke to you. We didn't start talking until a month after and that was because I told you to leave me alone." I chuckled, shaking my head. "But we turned out fine-- started talking more and eventually started dating."

She grinned and nodded, "Yeah took a while, but you cracked."

"When I told you why I didn't want a relationship, you still pursued me. Why?" I asked curiously. "I was rude to you and pushed you away. So why?"

She shrugged, "I don't know. You were attractive and I wanted to get to know you-- I wanted to know what created the person you are. People like you are created, not made." She explained. "Then I found out it was because of some girl and so I decided to fix you."

The way she said some girl irked me. She made her out to be almost irrelevant, like Ariana didn't matter anymore.

Hearing she was interested in me because I was attractive felt almost painful, at least it should have been but I didn't care. She only judged as far as her eyes let her.

"She wasn't some girl, Sian. She is my first love." I sighed deeply, taking notice of how her eyes turned colder than they were, "Was Harry-- Was."

"No, Sian." I shook my head. "She isn't a was but an is-- she is my present and my future and everything in between. I don't know how else to say this to you Sian, but I am still in love with her."

A small gasp passed her lips, her eyes settling to a glare. "So you're breaking up with me?"

"I know you don't want to hear me apologize but you have to at least understand. I'm doing this because it's unfair to you and to her." I said, taking her hands in mine.

"For so long, I thought I would be able to move on. I did like you Sian-- don't think for a second I was just using you. I've thought about it for a while and realized where my heart sits," I released her hands and stood up. "and it's not with you."

"I hope you can forgive me." I sighed as she frowned. Tears threatened to spill but she held them in, which I mentally thanked her for. I've already crossed off making a pretty girl cry off my bucket list.

She sniffled as she stood up, "Well, who am I to come between true love." She murmured as I thanked her, "Thank you for understanding Sian."

I went to pull her into a hug but her hand came in between us, pushing me back. Her lips formed a straight line as she shook her head, almost in annoyance.
