Ruby's POV
I walked down the streets, my ear buds plunged into my skull blasting the familiar lyrics of H.I.M. as I stopped at the local music store, peering inside the building. I saw my best friend inside as she gave me a smile as she put the remaining Cd's that were in her hands onto the rack. I came inside and smiled at her as she greeted at me with a hug.
“What are you up to sis?” She asked as she pulled away. I shrugged, shoving my hands into my pockets. I paused my music and wrapped the chords around my iPod and looked to her. My beautiful friend Katie looked back at me, her red hair swooping across her forehead as her smile was on her face, making me happy.
“Came to see you and look for aCD,” I explained. She nodded and came around to the counter as I looked around the racks for the new Red CD that I was dying to get. It came out months ago but now I was finally able to get the dang thing since I saved up my money enough and decided to spend a little bit of it on a CD that I really wanted.
“Oh I need to tell you something,” She said lightly. I looked over to the counter seeing her happy as ever. She beamed a smile to me as I finally found the CD and grinned at myself. All that hard earned money and a bit of birthday money, I was able to get it. I came to Katie with the CD in hand and pulled out my wallet as she slapped two tickets down on my CD. I looked down at them, pausing as my hand hovered over my back pocket looking at the two tickets.
There were concert tickets for my favorite band of all time. The band that had helped me through my hell and whom I tried to perfect on the drums for almost a year now. Avenged Sevenfold. I felt a smile tug on my lips as I saw them. I looked up at her and then back down to the tickets.
“How did you get these?” I asked her.
“That’s a secret my dear friend,” She said taking one ticket, “That ones yours,” She said with a huge smile on her face. I felt a frown come over me. I stared down at the ticket that she had bought for me. It felt wrong taking it from her. Besides these tickets where for L.A., California, there was no way that I could go. The way my dad was and the way money was going, I couldn’t just pack up my bags and leave!
“I can’t take this from you,” I said, feeling my heart wrench from saying something like that. She looked at me, her smile fading and the happiness in her eyes falling. It hurt seeing her like this but I couldn’t take the tickets from her, that’s just wrong!
“Of course you can, Ruby, its your birthday,” She said happily, “Besides I wanna go somewhere with you. Don’t worry about the tickets. It’s my birthday present to you,” She said happily pushing back the tickets to me. I smiled at her and thanked her. She came around the counter and hugged me tightly. “Oh and go ahead and take the CD. No need to purchase it, it's on the house.” She said. I rolled my eyes and thanked her again as she pulled me back into another hug.
“No problem baby cakes,” She giggled. I took the ticket and the CD and walked out of the music store, telling her that I would drop by her house after I got home and told my dad and she nodded. I just hope this all goes good.
Brian's POV
“Great show guys,” Our manager Larry said as we came to our locker room backstage. We thanked him as he left us toget freshened up which meant some Marlboro for me and a bottle of Jack Daniels.
“I can’t wait till next week!” Jimmy exclaimed out of nowhere as the girls came inside. My girlfriend Michelle came in with a smile as she wrapped her arms around my neck, kissing my gently on my lips leaving my quivering inside.
“Why?” I heard Gena, Zackary’s girlfriend ask.
“My sister is coming to visit! I sent her tickets to our concert next week too and she said she’s going to bring her friend for her birthday!” He said happily bouncing up and down. Looked like the kid was on crack or something. He was filled with excitement. I mean, I was too, it was great that we get to meet Jimmy’s long lost sister that we had never met and another probably crazy fan. They were family and we take family seriously.
“I can’t wait to meet her!” Val, Matt’s fiancé told him. He thanked her and left the room smiling brightly with his phone in his hands, answering it as he left the room.
“You looked great out there baby,” Michelle said, drawing me back to her. I smiled at her, kissing her lightly and thanking her.
“You don’t have to do much to make me happy,” I told her. She giggled and wrapped her arms around my neck letting her kiss take us into our own worlds. Nothing can get better then today, then this moment. Nothing.
