Katie’s POV

Seeing Brian dancing closely with my supposed to be best friend was like a slap across my face. How could he do that to me? How could Ruby do that to me? I trusted her to be on my side and just because her and Jimmy weren’t talking she was hooking up with my man? Woa, my man? I literally slapped myself and poured me another shot and downed it in an instant.

I was over him. He ignored me for almost two months and didn’t give a damn about me or what went wrong up there in Alaska. He didn’t deserve any of my attention. But seeing him so close to Ruby just hurt so much. My already broken heart was aching even more as I saw his hand cupping her cheek.

God, I missed him so incredibly much. I missed talking to him, feeling his touch, his strong arms around me and his soft lips kissing mine and sending fireworks through my body. I had never felt anything like this before in my life. It made me complete, he made me complete. It has been so hard to not run up into his arms when he had shown up at Jimmy’s earlier that day. He looked so gorgeous and my heart pounded heavily in my chest. And then he said he loved me. That made my stomach grow into knots from all the butterflies in it but at the same time I wanted to yell at him and punch him, crying why he didn’t call or visited.

My fingernails dug into the wood of the bar as my eyes stayed glued on the man that I loved and my best friend. Yes, I loved him. It was a fact that I couldn’t deny any longer. I wasn’t someone to kid myself when it comes to real feelings. I knew just from the way it hurt being away from him and seeing him with other girls that I was about to fall hard for this guy.

Suddenly Brian glanced over to me. Our eyes met and I saw a challenging spark in his eyes. He knew that I was watching them the whole time and he enjoyed it. Fuck, he even smirked at me now. My body tensed and I downed another double shot with a shaking hand only to see his wonderful lips kissing Ruby. He was kissing my best friend! And not just a small peck, no. It was a full hearted kiss, with her arms around his neck.

“What the fuck!” Absolutely furious I stormed from behind the bar towards them, shoving people rudely out of my way. I pulled on Ruby’s arm and pushed him away from her seeing them exchanging looks. What was that all about? He was Jimmy’s best friend. How could he hook up with her when he knew that his best friend was hurting over her?

“See you later Syn.” I heard Ruby giggle but my eyes stayed on his face. His eyes though followed my best friend and he lightly chuckled before turning back to me.

“So now you’re kissing my best friend?!” I asked outraged. I was beyond mad and not afraid to show it in front of all these people. He did me wrong so why was he now acting like such a prick? He knew I was hurting but instead of fighting for me he went and kissed my best friend. My fucking best friend! Out of all girls it had to be Ruby.

He looked cockily at me and smirked. He was not the gentleman that I got to know and grew to love. The man that stood now in front of me was arrogant, self-absorbed and goddamn hot, I could hardly contain myself. My head was spinning and my body in total uproar.

“Well, if you call that a kiss then yes.” He said matter-of-factly smirking arrogantly down at me.

“I can’t believe you Haner! You’re such a-” That’s when his lips crushed onto mine. I was taken by such surprise that my body tensed as his strong muscly arms snaked around my upper body. But wow, these fireworks were absolutely incredible. I felt myself kissing him back fiercely and wrapping my arms around his neck which led him to pull me closer. I could feel his heat radiating through his shirt. He tasted of alcohol but I didn’t mind that at all. All I could think of was how much I wanted him right now as his tongue slipped into my mouth.
