Ruby’s P.O.V.

“Hello?” I groaned in the phone. Whoever was calling this early in the morning was asking for a punch in the face when I see them.

“Hey, it’s Jimmy,” I snapped awake and rubbed my eyes trying to sound more awake.

“Sorry I woke you up,” He chuckled lightly. I felt a grin form on my face and I looked at my iPod to see that it was almost noon. I guess Katie and I were up pretty late talking, letting her talk out her emotions and such, poor girl. “Do you girls need a ride to the concert tonight?” He asked.

“Not sure, I have to ask your sister,” I said remembering what she had said last night. After that incident, I highly doubt she wanted to even talk to Brian let alone see the man. I know that if I saw him then I would kill him. No one breaks my best friend’s heart like that, it was stupid. If he didn’t like her like that then why kiss her? Why tell her that he just wanted to be friends after that?

“Alright just let me know. They guys and I are going to leave early but I can sneak out and come and get you guys,” He said, I could hear the smile on his face. Just imagining that smile sent butterflies in my stomach. All of last night I couldn’t stop thinking about him even though I was trying my best not to. I was trying so hard not to like him like this but, I couldn’t.

“Will do,”

“Oh and Ruby,”

“Yeah?” I asked. There was a slight pause that seemed to go on forever, my heart was racing and my throat was growing dry waiting for him to say something.

“You look beautiful today, just like every day,” and with that, he hung up leaving me with a stupid grin on my face. I bit my lower lip trying not to squeal like an idiot and tossed my phone on my bed, grabbing clean clothes and heading for the shower before getting Katie up.

I spiked my hair up a little and put on some mascara and slipped on my black t-shirt and my black jeans. I ran to Katie’s bed and pounced on it causing her to scream and fall off of the bed. I lay on her bed laughing hysterically and she got up and glared at me.

“That wasn’t very nice,” She groaned rubbing her eyes.

“And neither is your hair,” I laughed. She glared at me again and pointed to mine.

“Like yours is any better?”

“Mine is red and black amazingness thank you, besides its styled, yours is just a rat’s nest,” I said matter-of-factually. She just rolled her eyes asking what time it was.

“Noon…oh and your brother called,” I said, my heart flipping at what he told me. I held in the grin, or at least tried and told her about him picking us up to go to the concert. She sat on the bed and sighed.

“I know that you don’t want to see Brian but…this is going to sound selfish but I have always wanted to see these guys and it’s my first concert…” I said sitting beside her. Her hand went on top of mine and she grinned at me.

“I know sis, I brought you here for your birthday so that you can go to it and to meet my brother,” She said smiling at me when she said about me meeting her brother which, for some stupid reason, made me blush.

“So, I am going to go…” She said with her voice trailing off. I squealed and hugged her tightly.

“Thank you so much Katie! It’s going to be awesome! And I will be there for you, you know that,” I told her. She nodded and I hugged her again telling her to get a shower since she reeked.
