Black Noir moved through the city streets, the darkness his ally. He didn't understand why he was heading to Y/N's penthouse, but he couldn't stop himself. Something about her pulled him in, even though he couldn't fully grasp what it was. When he reached her building, he found himself at her window, watching her sleep. She looked so peaceful, completely different from how she was at Vought. It made him feel something—something strange and unfamiliar.

A window was slightly open, and without really thinking, Noir slipped inside. The room was quiet, save for the sound of Y/N's breathing. He stood over her bed, just watching her. There was nothing creepy about it, at least not in his mind.

Noir's attention drifted toward her locked office door. He had noticed it before, but now, standing in the quiet of her apartment, his curiosity got the better of him. He walked over to the door, his gloved hand hovering over the doorknob, considering if he should try to break in. There was something about Y/N that didn't add up, and part of him wanted to see what secrets she might be hiding in there.

But before he could act, he heard a soft whimper coming from Y/N's room—a faint, pleading sound that made him freeze. It was a cry for help, and it hit him with an unexpected force. Noir's head turned sharply back toward her bed.

Noir realized she was having a nightmare. He froze for a moment, unsure of what to do. He wasn't exactly trained for this sort of thing, but he didn't like seeing her like that. Almost instinctively, he reached out and brushed a strand of hair from her face, tucking it behind her ear. Then, he pulled the blanket up around her shoulders, trying to comfort her in the only way he knew how.

She let out another soft cry, and Noir stayed by her side, watching her closely. The nightmare seemed to fade, her expression relaxing into something more peaceful. He stood there for what felt like an hour, just making sure she was okay. He didn't move, didn't make a sound, just kept silent by her bedside.

Eventually, when he was sure the nightmare had passed, Noir slipped out of her apartment as quietly as he had come in. He left no trace that he had been there, disappearing into the night once again.

The next morning, Y/N woke up feeling oddly rested, with no idea that someone had been watching over her. She went about her day, completely unaware that Black Noir had been there, by her bed that same night.
