Y/N moved swiftly and quietly through the empty Vought hallways. It was silent—a deadly type of silence. She entered the main meeting room, which was empty, and quickly made her way to the file box where the same pile of documents that had been handed to Black Noir was stored.
She scanned through some of the papers, but before she could move on to the next document, someone had sneaked up on her from behind.
The attacker pinned Y/N against the wall by her neck. It was Black Noir. He analyzed her and the situation; she was clearly in the wrong, snooping around. He wasn't going to kill her, though. He wanted to test her, to harm her and trigger her fight-or-flight response.
Y/N fought back. She reached for Noir's dagger, which was attached to his large bicep, and pierced him in the side. His grip on her neck loosened, and she tackled him. He was too strong, but she managed to knock him off his feet. Noir got up faster than she did, and as she tried to get away while still on the floor, he pulled her by the ankle.
Y/N kicked him, giving herself enough time to get up, which allowed her to fight back again. She landed a couple of blows on him, but then he threw her onto the large meeting room glass table, which shattered. She fell to the floor and grabbed one of the glass shards.
Noir was enjoying this. She was his prey, and he was having fun.
Noir stood above her as she lay on the ground. When he bent down closer to her, Y/N swung the glass shard, cutting his forearm twice. But then he caught the shard, which cut his palm, and he threw it away.
Noir got on top of her, one knee on her chest, holding her down. He loved the view he was getting. Then he wrapped his hands around her neck and began applying pressure.
Her body writhed beneath him, but he was far stronger than she was. She dug her nails into his wrist, but nothing worked—his grip was too strong. She accepted her fate at that point, looking at him with sorrowful eyes, not breaking eye contact as she struggled to breathe.
And then he let go. He slowly got up from her body, now standing straight and looking down at her.
Y/N caught her breath and slowly sat up, touching her neck. Noir stretched out his muscular arm to her.
She hesitated and stayed still, but he didn't move. He stood there, waiting for her to accept his "helping hand" after almost killing her.
Y/N grabbed his hand. Noir stiffened at her touch. He pulled her up and didn't let go, signaling her to follow him.
