Homelander paced the room, with a sense of unease he hadn't felt in a long time. Someone was out there, snooping, prying into things they had no business knowing. It wasn't just paranoia—he could feel it. And if there was one person who could help him figure out who was behind it, it was Sister Sage.

He stopped in front of the conference room door, taking a breath before pushing it open. Inside, Sister Sage was already seated, her calm demeanor making her seem almost detached from the situation. She glanced up as he entered, her eyes calculating.

"Sage," Homelander greeted, trying to mask his irritation with a friendly tone.

"Homelander," she responded with a nod, her voice steady as always. She folded her hands on the table in front of her, waiting for him to speak.

He didn't waste any time. "Someone's been snooping around. Could be a spy, maybe someone from the government, or even someone on the inside. I need to know who it is and what they know before it becomes a problem."

Sage nodded, her expression thoughtful. "I've noticed some unusual activity in the system," she admitted. "A few flagged files, some encrypted communications that don't match the usual patterns. Someone's definitely trying to stay under the radar."

Homelander's jaw clenched. "You knew and you didn't think to bring this up sooner?"

"I am the smartest person on this God damn earth, of course I'd know, I just wanted to be sure before I said anything," Sage replied, her tone unbothered by his rising tension. "Now that you've confirmed your suspicions, I can focus on finding out who's responsible."

Homelander took a seat across from her, leaning forward. "I need this handled quietly. Whoever's doing this is smart, and if they catch wind that we're onto them, they might bolt or cover their tracks even better."

Sage nodded again, her eyes narrowing as she considered the situation. "I'll start by cross-referencing logs with the team's activity. If there's a mole or someone working against us, I'll find them. But it's going to take some time."

"We don't have time," Homelander snapped, his patience wearing thin. "I need results fast."

"I understand," Sage replied, unfazed by his outburst. "But rushing this will only lead to mistakes. Trust me to handle this, and I'll get you the answers you need."

Homelander stared at her for a long moment, his blue eyes piercing, but he knew she was right. Sister Sage was the best at what she did. If anyone could root out a threat, it was her. He just hated feeling out of control, and this situation was making him itch.

"Fine," he finally said, leaning back in his chair. "But don't take too long."

Sage gave a small, confident smile. "Don't worry, Homelander. I'll figure it out. Sooner or later, they'll slip up, and when they do, we'll be ready."

Homelander nodded, feeling a bit more reassured but still restless. He had enemies everywhere, and the thought of someone getting too close to the truth was enough to keep him on edge.
