finally you and taylor were done with all the boxes and you two could finally move to your house together.

emily moved with you two and she used the guest room as hers. taylor tried to convince you to decorate it as emily wanted, the colors, the bed and all that.

"i don't think that's a good idea, tay... my dad said he would be back, and i'm not gonna lie, i thought he just left her with me and left for good. but he has been texting me and asking me how she was, and he even gave me the number of the guy that is following him with the rehabilitation. i think he wants to actually be there for emily" that's what you answered. as soon as he asked you to look after her you immediately thought he was just abandoning her. but the day after he texted, asking how his 'little angel' was doing. and the day after again. and again. and again.

and now it was the first night you would sleep in the new house. your new house. yours and taylor's.

you put emily in bed and then you joined taylor in your bedroom.

"first night in our new home" taylor commented while hugging you and laying her head on your chest.

"yep" you smiled down at her and kissed the top of taylor's head.

"how is emily?" taylor looked up at you, her chin laying on your chest now.

"she's good" you replied and taylor started at you for some seconds.

"what are you thinking about?" you asked her since she was just staring without saying anything.

taylor sighed, thinking if she should ask that question.

"how are you feeling?" taylor asked, you could see in her face that she was concerned.

"i'm good, tay. thanks for asking" you chuckled.

"how are you?" you asked back, just that taylor didn't answer that question.

"you know i'm not asking you that. how are you feeling about this whole emily situation?" she asked again, more specifically.

you just sighed, not really wanting to talk about that.

"i mean, i'm not telling you that you have to talk about it if you are not ready, but i think you need it" she finished.

"i like her" you simply replied, knowing that was not what taylor wanted to hear.

"yn..." she softly spoke, brushing some of your hair that had fallen in your face.

"i don't know, tay..." you started, knowing that taylor was not gonna give up.

"he really seems to be waiting her back, and i'm happy he does. i honestly am not ready to take care of a kid...yet" you started explaining. you and taylor both knew that there was more though, and you knew that talking about it would be nice, so you took some deep breaths and started talking again.

"but i'm confused... i think" taylor frowned slightly. you notice her confusion and chuckled at her face. you run the hand that was not wrapped around taylor through her hair, and leaned closer to taylor to kiss the top of her nose.

"why didn't he want to do that with me?" you finally spoke and you saw taylor's face relaxed the frown.

"why didn't he tried to make up with me? why didn't he tried to get better? to stop drinking? why didn't he realize he was hurting me?" you asked all the questions out loud, knowing that taylor couldn't answer those questions but deep down you hoped she would try.

"i don't know, love" she said, starting to draw patterns on your shoulder with her finger.

"i know you don't, i wasn't expecting an answer from you" you told her, smiling slightly at her.
