The Changes

"Why do you want to sell that hotel?" he asked as he stood in the dark.

"Don't you get it, Eric? This way I'll get the money, free and luxury hotel with more victims. It's called logic," the answer came from the shadows. It scared Eric to death.

"I get it know. But still, just giving it like that to that bastard?" he said with anger in his voice.

"I'm ready for some changes, Eric. Lindsey changed it all that day. She fought me and she didn't give up at that last moment. I want to find a person who's gonna fight like that again. It's giving me chills, Eric," the voice, cold and heartless, spoke next to him.

"What are you going to do with that girl? She is caught," said Eric without emotion.

"I'm going to kill her. She did well but know she's not fighting. She gave up. And she's going to jail anyway. I can't play with her in the jail," she said pretending to be sad and disappointed.

"Yeah, that's reasonable," Eric agreed.

"Oh, well. I think I'm going to have fun with new victims. And it's gonna be different this time. I just can't wait," she said sounding like a happy, little girl.

Eric smirked hoping she doesn't see that.

"He's going to rebuild it this fall," Eric said later.

"Yeah, I have to wait," she switched her voice again. Eric didn't know how's she able to change her voices to happiness to sadness like that. She was gifted after all, he thought with another smirk.

"And what are you going to do with your brother? His funeral is in three days," Eric asked changing the subject.

"Well, I think I'll go to see it, though. They don't know I'm his lovely sister," she walked out of the dark. He could see her smiling.

"They don't know a thing. You blamed everything on Lindsey," he said smiling at her.

"Of course. And one more thing, Eric," she faced him directly.

"Yes?" he froze, looking at her eyes full of darkness.

"I hope our partnership lasts. Try not to die as my brother," Miley spoke to him, giving him chills, then smiled and walked away.
