Chapter seventeen: A Natural Killer
"Such a nice song, isn't it? I've just made it up," she smirked at us proudly. We were frozen.
"What do you want? Please, don't kill us," Jess cried in desperation to live.
"There's the problem, Jess. I want your lives," no emotion on her face while saying those words.
"How do you know our names?" I asked wanting the answers.
"I need to know everything about my victims," she replied, smiling at me. I could see a desire in her eyes. A desire to kill me. To kill us all.
"Do you have a name?"
"You can call me Miley," the girl said looking bored by this conversation, "or just a killer."
"Miley, why are you doing this? For real? Is this some revenge? Make me understand," I tried to get to her. If I knew why was she doing this, I would know how to stop her.
"Ever heard for a natural killer?"
I nodded in agreement.
"I'm a natural killer."
I sighed when she lifted an ax in the air like it was just a toy.
"I killed my first victims when I was nine. It was an accident, they said. There was no accident, my friends. I didn't even blink. My hands were cold. I killed them with a kitchen knife. So easy."
"Who did you kill?"
"My parents."
I almost screamed after I heard the answer. My mouth dropped, eyes opened in pure terror as I watched the girl in front of me. I could feel her coldness reaching me.
"Don't worry. They were evil. They shouldn't be parents after all! They made their enemy."
"Why this hotel? What's so special about this place?"
"My parents owned this dump. They died here and I disappeared. I came back and started a game of killing. It was fun!"
"You're sick!"
"Doesn't matter am I sick or a freak, you're going to die now, darling."
"So, the person who stays in this hotel gets killed?"
"Bingo," her face was happy and excited like a child's who was about to open his presents.
The next thing happened in thirty seconds. It was too fast. Too fast for my eyes. Too fast for my brain. Too fast for my heart.
"Run," I screamed when she wasn't expecting and ran in other direction from her.
Jess was following me as always and Chris was behind her. We caught her by surprise, but she was fucking fast!
Miley flinched at my words, made a grimace and threw the knife in my direction and this time, she was really targeting. I felt pain in my shoulder and I fell to the ground. Knife was in my shoulder and blood stained my shirt.
I turned my face, just in time to see Miley shooting my little sister. She shot her in the leg, so Jess couldn't move. She had a gun, too, on my own horror. Jessica fell screaming in pain.
Chris went speechless. He stopped running and now he stood between Jessica and Miley. He turned his face to the killer, just to see Miley with an ax coming slowly to finish my sister.
"Jessica!" I screamed as I tried to push my legs and body up, so I could run to Jess and save her. But, I couldn't. My body was paralyzed by the pain.
"No! No, leave her!" I was hopeless. I tried to crawl to her, to reach her, but my body didn't obey my commands.
"Chris!" I heard her scream with fear in her little eyes. She tried to crawl, to run away, but couldn't. I lifted my head up just to see Chris staring at Jessica, speechless. Chris wasn't hurt. He could save Jessica! I felt hope rising in me.
"Chris, help me!" she screamed while Miley was approaching slowly. She had time to kill us all.
Chris looked at my sister with his mouth dropped and eyes filled with shock. Jess was looking at him with tears and fear in her eyes. He was her last hope!
Then, he smirked at her.
"Sorry, Jess. I can't help you," his voice became evil.
