The Meeting
"So, you're the owner?" he asked the man sitting at the other side of the table. The man was short, skinny, kind of clumsy and had big glasses. He looked like a nerd to him.
"Yes, I am," he answered shortly.
"Well, thank you for meeting me here," he said pointing at the restaurant he had chosen.
"No problem. As long as this is your treat, I'm okay," said the owner lifting the glass with a red wine in it.
"Well, let's talk about selling that place of yours."
"My hotel? Why would you want that cursed place? It is burned to ground anyway."
"Let's just say I want it. And I'm willing to pay a high price if needed."
He wrote numbers on the paper and gave it to the owner. Shock crossed his face as he looked at numbers.
"I'll have to call my partner. I'll be right back," he said and took his phone with him to the bathroom.
"He wants to sell it," said man's servant as he looked the owner entering the bathroom.
"Yes, I know how to deal with people like him. I'm just worrying about his partner. He may not want to sell it, though," answered the man.
"We'll see," said George patiently.
Few minutes later, the owner came out of the bathroom and approached the table.
"Okay, I'll sell the place," said the owner with the smile.
