Yesterday was fun. I actually had fun. I swam at the beach with Lorenzo, and I rode on his bike. I liked the bike, I liked feeling the wind. I actually liked hanging out with him. Weird.
Once I picked up Lily and Marco from school Lily immediately noticed my hair and clothes being wet and asked me where I was. I told her I went to the beach with a friend. She looked suspicious but didn't question it.
Today I'm meeting up with Mae at lunch to talk about yesterday. When I was on the phone with her yesterday she sounded so excited.
Flashback to the phone call yesterday

" Hey girl, where are you? We didn't see you or Lorenzo at lunch." She says.
" Yeah we had a run in with E. He tried to hit me and stuff but Lorenzo cut in before he could." I reply.
" Oh. Are you okay?" She worriedly asked.
" Yeah I'm good, Lorenzo took be to the beach. We were swimming." I assure her.
" Oh. Ok, good. Wait you skipped school!?" She sounds excited.
" Um, yeah?" I say more like a question than an answer.
" Omg, Maria im so proud. You've never skipped school, even when I ask you to." She sounds excited now.
" Oh, yeah I guess I haven't, but I was so caught up in the moment that I forgot about school." I respond.
" Ohh." Shes definitely smirking.
"Ok, well, I gotta go, I have to get back to pick up Lily and Marco. I'll tell you about it tomorrow at school." I tell her.
" Ok, about that, I'm so so sorry, but I accidentally told James about you taking care of Lily and Marco. I didn't tell him anything about your mom though." She blurts.
" Are you for real. I swear I can't tell you anything. How would you feel if I just went and blurted everything you've told me to Lorenzo." I say. I'm not really mad. I just want her to feel bad, but for real she is the worst at keeping secrets.
" Why would you do that. Unless you and Lorenzo are dating. Are you!?" She says getting excited.
" No, we're not, back to the point."
" Right , sorry, anyway, I really am sorry, you know I'm bad at keeping secrets. But I'm so so sorry, if you want to punch me you can." She says.
" I'm not mad, promise, and I'm not gonna punch you Mae." I say laughing.
" Ok,bye, love you, tell me everything." She says .
I say bye and love you before hanging up, turning to Lorenzo he seems to have just gotten off the phone too.
" Mae?" He asks, referring to who was on the phone.
I nod and say, " James?"
He nods.
