Lorenzo
________Maria is very drunk. Very, very, drunk. I don't know why I let her drink so much. She looked so sad and distant so I decided she could drink some. I've only had two shots of vodka so I'm not drunk. Possibly tipsy but barely even that.
Right now she's sitting at the counter drinking the water I got her. She looks even more out of it then she did minutes ago. "Maria, baby,do you want to go sit somewhere else? Somewhere more quiet maybe?" I gently ask.
She nods her head and puts her hand out, I take it and she stands up. Immediately she falls over but I'm quick to catch her. With her hand around my shoulders and my hand on her waist we start walking.
The couch is to crowded and there's people all in that room. So I choose to go to the backyard. This place has a pool and a bench swing a little ways more near the trees.
When we make it to the swing she sits down then lays her head in my lap and puts her feet up onto the swing. I start stroking my fingers through her hair. She takes a big sigh then turns her whole body so she's laying on her back and looking up at me instead of at the pool. "Why did she have to leave me?"
"Who? Who left you Maria." I say softly.
"My mom, it's been years, she left a little after Marco was born. My dad, he tries as best he can but I know it's hard on him, his wife just up and leaves him with his three children. He's usually working so we have enough money to live. I try my hardest to make sure everyone's okay, I mean I take Lily and Marco to school, pick them up, take them wherever they need to go, cook them food. And yeah my dad does that stuff sometimes but I don't know." She slurs her words, still being drunk. I still picked up exactly what she said even though her words weren't as clear as they would normally be.
"Don't know what? I murmur.
" I'm just tired. I'm so tired, and I want my mom. Not even my mom. I just want a mom. You know what fuck my mom, she's a piece of shit that left her kids and her husband and everyone that loved her. She's a piece of shit." She starts to get angry, which is complete contrast to how she was seconds ago.
"I know baby, I know." I pause and think, "You could meet my mom if you wanted. Wait, actually I'll talk to you more when you're sober." I change my mind but it's to late, I've already said it.
She sits up and looks right at me, after I've untangled my hands from her hair. "You would let me meet your mom?" She says looking as sober as ever, although I know she's not.
"Uhm, yeah?" I mutter more as a question than a statement. After I say that though she looks a hundred times happier and leaves in and gives me a deep kiss, I make sure to keep it as just that, a kiss. Not a make out or anything more. I'm not going to take advantage of her.
"Thank you." She added, against my lips. She gave me another kiss before she went back to laying her head on my lap. I go back to putting my hands in her hair and stroking it again. "You know, you're really handsome." She comments.
"Really?" I smirk.
"Really." She slurs. "I don't know why we ever hated each other. You're very nice, and sweet, and handsome, and uhm, oh! You're very sexy. Also I like riding on your bike. I like when we ride your bike, it's fun." She rambles.
"I never hated you Maria, you're very beautiful, and maybe one day I could take you for a ride, to just ride around, not go anywhere in particular. That sound fun?" I promise.
