AZURE REMAINED silent and didn't say to reply to Mk's question. He only held the scroll tightly in his hand as if indicating that Wukong was in the scroll, "Explain yourself, Azure!" Mei was the first one to speak up.
"What are you—"
Mk asked, but he was cut off by Tang, "Azure's been lying to us, MK." He stated seriously, keeping his eyes on the lion. You and Mk shared a look of confusion, not knowing what they were talking about, "Um, maybe we should give Mr. Lion a chance to explain." Sandy, being the nice and understanding guy he is, suggested to make things less intense.
"I saw it! Here. Wherever this place is. Him! Plotting to take down the Monkey King. That was his plan all along, to trap Monkey King inside that scroll and do something sinister, something bad, probably."
You gasped and put your hand on your lips, "Then... He was lying the whole time?! This isn't possible." You said with utter disbelief and betrayal. There was a hint of surprise in Azure's eyes, but he didn't say anything and just let out a hum, "See?! He's basically admitting it! And to think I modeled my brand new sword after yours! Gross!" Mei exclaimed with disgust evident in her eyes. Your green eyes were glued on Azure who you thought was your ally and friend, "Why are you quiet? Say something, explain what's going on? Why did you do this?" You asked him while pointing your sword at him, your voice held a hint of hurt in it.
The lion averted his gaze away and closed him eyes for a moment, "It wasn't my intention to deceive you, but I knew you wouldn't understand. Sometimes it's easier to ask for forgiveness, not permission."
"Ooh, okay. Then I hope you won't be upset when I don't ask permission for this!"
Mei recklessly dashed at Azure, aiming her dragon sword at him. Azure quickly dodged and used the curse of the scroll to protect himself. You knew there was something off when Azure summoned the curse so suddenly, "Mei, wait!" You tried to stop her, but she already was going for another attack. Suddenly, a strong light erupted from the scroll before you heard someone speaking, "Greetings, little girl." A bird demon spoke up before they opened their wing, sending Mei flying away.
"Mei!" You quickly moved and caught her before she could hit the pillar. The rest of the Monkie Kids leaped at them but Sandy pushed Tang out of the way at the sight of another weapon coming at them. Pigsy crashed to the ground while Sandy tried to hold it off, but he is defeated by a giant elephant. Your eyes widened and you were going to help them, but a spear was pointed at you and Mei by that bird to keep you both in place, Tang was also pinned down by them.
