MOMENTS PRIOR, BOTH Mei and Mk watched you negotiate with the great monk to take you three with him. However, they could see how nervous you were which made them believe that you were struggling to convince him.
"Mei, look. Y/N seems to be struggling with Tang." Mk spoke up, pointing out your hard effort to persuade Tang Sanzang. Mei huffed and crossed her arms, "He is going to hurt her feelings if he harshly refused. Also, where does he get off?! "Hyperactive." I'll show him hyperactive!" Mei exclaimed in anger, flexing her arms to fight Tang. Thankfully, Mk stopped her in time and used his gold vision, "Wait, Mei! It looks like Tang is trapped inside the body of Great Monk Táng Sānzàng." He told her, seeing the real Tang trapped inside the monk's body.
"Tang's past life guy?"
"Well, that's unconfirmed, but yeah."
"What?! Well, then, how are we gonna wake him up?"
"I don't know and Y/N is distracting him! So... Uh, grab him!"
Meanwhile, you thanked the monk for agreeing to let you accompany him. It was a relief that you managed to convince him; otherwise, this would make your mission more difficult. However, you could see both Mei and Mk from the corner of your eyes leaping in the air to attack the monk, "G-G-Guys! Don't-..." You were cut off when a strange man attacked your friends.
"Oh, no, you don't! Get away from the Monk, demon spawn! Oh, you're just children so you're like regular spawn." The man spoke up before going to Tang Sanzang.
You gasped and rushed to them, "Mei! Mk! Are you two okay? You're not dead are you?" You exclaimed with concern, looking between them rapidly. The two of them sat up and let out a groan, "Yeah, but this hurts bad." Mei replied while scratching her head. You let out a sigh and shook your head, "You shouldn't have done this, I have managed to convince him to let us accompany him." You said with a scolding tone. Mk looked at you with surprise, "Really? This makes the job more easier! Thanks Y/N!" The boy happily exclaimed before rushing to the monk and the man.
You and Mei watched your friend butt into the men's conversation. The dragon girl quickly moved and grabbed Mk with you following behind, "MK, what are you doing?" She asked him while you nodded to her question. Mk smiled with confidence, "Go with me for a moment. What if to wake up Tang, we gotta let this story play out? If we help finish whatever business the monk needs doing, then we'll get back our Tang!" He explained to you two. Mei liked the idea while you sweatdropped, "Isn't this going to take long?" You thought, but you didn't want to demotivate Mk because he looked so excited.
