YOU AND THE others were gathered in Wukong's house to make a plan on how to take down Azure and his brothers. You had made Sakura mochi again for your friends to eat while discussing, but it was more to distract yourself from the harsh truth you had heard from Ne Zha.
You weren't actually meant to be with Macaque in the first place, you were destined to be with someone else. During the plan making process, you were deep in your thoughts that you paid almost no attention to what Mk and Wukong were saying, "Why am I so confused and upset? This can't just be true. Maybe it's just a rumor, people tend to say a lot of things." You thought while gripping the skirt of your uniform tightly.
"Y/N!"
"Huh? O-Oh..."
You snapped out of your thoughts when you heard Mk call out your name. He and the others were gathered on the ground to discuss the plan more. You blushed in embarrassment upon realizing that everyone was looking at you. Macaque, Mk, and Wukong were confused as to why you were so quiet. Especially Macaque, he was more concerned than confused. Meanwhile, Tang, Pigsy, Sandy, Mei, and Ne Zha were aware of the reason why you were zoning off.
"Hey, you alright? You seem to be bothered by something." Mk pointed out, tilting his head to the side. You blinked your green eyes more and smiled nervously, "Oh, I'm fine. Just thinking about a silly thing." You said while scratching your cheek. The boy believed you and thought nothing of it while Macaque wasn't really convinced by what you had said, "Anyway, you will be helping Macaque and Mei to deal with Peng." Mk told you with a big smile on his face.
"Hey, who said I'm joining?" Macaque protested with a frown, but no one cared about him. He was joining whether he liked it or not. You took a moment to understand what Mk had said before nodding with a big grin, "Yes!" As you exclaimed this, your friends who knew about the reason of your change of demeanor sighed in relief, knowing that you were back to your normal self.
Mk beamed with excitement, "Great, Y/N is also on board! Once we've got the scroll from Azure, we'll free all our friends trapped inside, schlurp up the bad guys, and lock this baby up tight so they can never make us face our nightmares again." The boy said, his smile suddenly turning into a traumatized one.
"We're all gonna die." Tang stated, earning him a nod from Ne Zha. Suddenly, Mei perked up and got an idea, "Oh! Okay. Take everything MK just said, but hear me out. So, every time we've gone into a final fight, we've basically winged it without a real plan. But it's like Subodhi said, that won't be enough this time. We need to wait for the moment to strike!" She started to explain.
"But Azure ain't gonna just wait around for us to attack. If he's got as much of a grudge against Monkey King as Macaque says he does, he's just gonna come and attack us first!" Pigsy added.
Mei smiled confidently and nodded, "Exactly! By not attacking, he'll think we're not ready for him. But he'll be wrong! The plan is to make it look like there is no plan at all! When really, we're already doing the plan! MK's plan!" She exclaimed as she pointed at Mk who chanted with excitement, "A Team and B Team will keep Peng and Yellowtusk busy. Monkey Team will get under Azure's skin, and annoy him enough so that when he's distracted, he won't know he's lost the scroll until it's too late." Mei finished explaining.
You clasped your hands together and blushed lightly in admiration, "Whoa! Mei is so smart!" You complimented her, making the girl scratch the back of her head bashfully.
"Thanks Y/N."
And just like that, you all started to train and prepare for the upcoming battle.
-TIME SKIP-
You were fixing your hair and uniform for the battle while the others were training outside. You were thankful that Wukong allowed you to use the mirror in his house.
"Y/N."
You saw Macaque's reflection in the mirror and he didn't look happy as he sounded. You forced a gentle smile on your face and turned around, "Oh, hey Mac. Do you need something? Are you perhaps hungry?" You asked him, mentally hoping that he won't talk about what you thinking about. Macaque's frown deepened, "Y/N, you're hiding something, right?" He directly asked you, gazing straight at your eyes. For a moment, you froze in place when you knew that you were caught red handed. However, you didn't want to show it to him, "Hiding something? No, of course not. I would never hide anything from you." You lied while trying to laugh it off.
Macaque still didn't believe you and raised an eyebrow, "Y/N, it's obvious when you lie. You've been zoning off the entire time and try to busy yourself with anything. I can see that you're hiding something." When you knew that you couldn't hide it from him anymore, you lowered your head down in guilt. Macaque approached you and put his hand under your chin, lifting your head up, "Hey, you know you can tell me anything. I'm here to listen and help." He softly said, his hand moved gently to caress your cheek.
You sighed and averted your gaze away, "It's about what Azure said. I asked Ne Zha and he confirmed it, he even said-..." You couldn't finish your sentence when you felt a powerful presence nearing Flower Fruit Mountain. Macaque looked out the window to the sky that changed color, "He is coming. We will talk later about this." With that being said, Macaque teleported you and the others through a shadow portal to Wukong and Mk who also noticed Azure's presence, "They're coming. Get down!" The shadow monkey exclaimed.
Suddenly, a bright light shot through the sky on the mountain and you could see Azure, Yellowtusk, and Peng stepping out, "I've warned you! I told you to stay out of my way. But here you stand, preparing for treason against your new emperor. And so, I will test the limits of Sun Wukong's immortality!" Azure stated as his eyes flashed bright blue, using the scroll to protect himself and fight.
