"Big up yourself me Don." The officer says then head back to the police car.

Nique drive off and I sigh looking out the window.

"Yow the man them greedy inuh, him couldn't take a 50k him wah 200k." Skull reply lighting his spliff.

"Dat soft, me just wah reach a Bay right now." Mi reply.

Even though mi a have small talk with Nique and Skull, mi need fi reach home like right now.

The entire journey home seem further and further than what I'm used to. It's like I now need a plane to get home fast enough.

Nique finally pull up at the house and we all walk out of the car and walk to the main entrance of my house.

I walk straight to Ria's room, her door is wide open but she not inside.

Mi pull out mi phone and call her, she answer on the second ring which annoy me.

"Hey" She answer sounding low.

"Where are you?"

"I'm at home."

"So how the fuck me deh yah and mi nuh see you Maria?" I reply knocking over the vase on the entrance table.

"I'm by the pool Kahjeel." She says before I end the call.

Mi walk to the back yard and ofcourse Maria sidung by the poolside like she said with both her legs in the water and her back turned to me.

I walk up to her and stoop down, sit behind her, wrap both my hands around her waist and kiss her cheek while my legs dangle in the water.

"Don't touch me Kahjeel." She says trying to push my hand from around her.

"Why?"

"I'm angry with you."

"Easy nuh Ria. U know how me get if me cyah find you." I reply squeezing her a little tighter.

"I know. I just needed some fresh air and decided to come outside." She says relaxing into my arm.

"Mmhm"

Every anger I had in me now gone at this moment. We sit in silence for what feels like more than twenty minutes until my phone starts ringing and I decide to ignore it.

"You should answer what if it's important?"

"I missed you alot today." I reply ignoring her remarks. I stand while pulling her up and spinning her in my arms to face me.

She is so fucking beautiful to me.

"You always say that though." She says with her head bent low.

I lift her chin so she can look in my eyes. "I always mean it. I want to take you out tonight for dinner or whatever you want to do cause I forgot to get us dinner."

Her lip has a little swelling and I assume it's where she got hurt. I'm literally fighting the urge to go back and kill the idiot.

Fuck man.

"What about your girlfriend Ashley or whatever her name is." She says playing with my shirt.

She is so innocent it breaks my heart to even fathom the thought of someone hurting her.

I squeeze her even tighter and rest my chin on the crown of her head.

"You got hurt today and you lied about it to me. Why?"

I feel her tense up at the sound of my voice "I didn't want you to hurt him." She whisper.

She step back a bit and look at me with those eyes that are asking if I did something awful to the guy.
