I open my eyes and Nique is in my room with me, she probably stayed with me after I got home yesterday.

I was so upset with Kahjeel yesterday to the point where I felt so overwhelmed. Nique wanted to talk about it but I just couldn't, so I went to bed.

She look over at me and smile. "You can sleep inuh gyal."

We both laugh and I sit up in the bed and stretch. I pull my phone off the charger and dial Kahjeel's number but it goes to voicemail.

"When did he leave?" I ask ignoring her attempt to insinuate Kahjeel and I are more than friends.

I sit up straight to hear what it is that caused that. "How that happen?"

"Kahjeel shouldn't be putting his hands on a woman. What if he had actually killed her?"

"Not a soul but me and you caz Busshead gone from after 4 this morning and Skull nuh sleep yah. I'm going home, soon be back so you can tell me a wah gwaan with you yesterday."

I nod and she walk out and close the door behind her.
