Aarav was propped up against the headboard, with Sayi's head resting gently on his lap. He hadn't moved an inch all night, not wanting to disturb her sleep. Being an early riser, he woke up around 4 AM. As his eyes adjusted to the dim light, he looked down at Sayi, peacefully asleep in his arms. A small smile crept onto his face.

Seeing her like this made him want to stay, but he knew he had to leave. He had work to do, and no one could know he'd spent the night in her room.

Carefully, he slid her head onto the pillow and got up, stretching out his stiff limbs. Before leaving, he leaned down and kissed her softly on the forehead, then on her eyelids.

With one last look, he slipped out through the balcony, leaving as quietly as he had come.

In the living room, Meera, half-asleep, muttered, "Maa, I'll go check on Sayi," and stumbled towards her sister's room. She found Sayi still asleep, curled up like a panda, and sighed. Climbing into bed next to her, she cuddled up to her sister and soon drifted off again.

Two hours later...

"Meera, Sayi, wake up! You said you'd wake her up, and now look at you both, still asleep!" Janaki sighed, tugging at their blanket. "Honestly, what did I do to deserve such sleepy pandas?"

The alarm blared loudly, but neither of the girls moved. Janaki watched as Sayi, eyes still closed, fumbled around for her phone to silence it.

"I'm counting to five, and if you're not up by then..." Janaki began, but before she could finish, both girls shot up, rubbing their eyes.

"Be in the living room in 20 minutes," she instructed, switching off the fan as she left. The sisters nodded, knowing all too well what would happen if they didn't listen.

Suddenly, memories of Aarav filled Sayi's mind-him taking care of her, feeding her. She sat up quickly, her thoughts racing to separate dream from reality.

She searched for her phone under the pillow and found a note stuck to the screen.

Note

Good Morning, sleepyhead!

Guess what? It wasn't a dream-I was right here with you all night. But don't worry, I slipped out early once your fever broke. Rest up.

A smile tugged at her lips.

"Why are you blushing so early in the morning?" Meera asked, eyeing her suspiciously.

"Why should I tell you?" Sayi quickly hid the note.

"Maa! Last night, Sayi-" Meera started, but Sayi clamped a hand over her mouth.

"Meera, just shut up!" she whispered, panicking.

"Mmmph...mmrrph" Meera mumbled against her hand.

Sayi removed her hand and asked, "What do you want?"

Meera smirked. "I get your wardrobe for the next 10 days."

Sayi glared at her but knew she had no choice.

"Fine..." Sayi started, but Meera wasn't done.

"And Be my slave for a week" Meera added with a grin.

Sayi opened her mouth to protest but thought better of it. She knew she was cornered. With a huff, Sayi stomped over to the wardrobe to pick out her clothes for college.
