Aarav's POV:
“Mr. Malhotra, we believe in you. We are ready to sign the deal, but before that, you need to come to France to discuss with our clients and complete the formalities" Robert Parker announced through the video call.
A smirk of satisfaction tugged at my lips. “Thank you, Mr. Parker” I replied, keeping my voice steady.
As the call ended, I shut down the laptop and leaned back in my chair, closing my eyes to soak in the moment. The hard work had paid off. But then, the realization hit me like a punch to the gut—I would have to go to France for a month. A whole month without seeing Sayi.
Frustration bubbled within me, and I wiped my face, trying to calm myself. My chest felt heavy, almost suffocating.
“Hey, buddy! Did we crack the deal?” Arjun’s voice boomed as he entered my cabin.
I nodded, massaging my temples.
“Woah! That calls for a celebration. Why the long face, though?” he asked, concern replacing his excitement.
“I have to leave for France tonight. For a month" I sighed.
His expression softened. “If it were in my hands, Aarav, I’d help you. But we both know only you can handle this. I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay” I muttered and left the cabin.
Sitting in my car, I loosened my tie and took a deep breath. I needed to see her, my peace. Connecting my phone to the car’s Bluetooth, I dialed Sayi’s number.
She picked up after three rings. “Hello, Sidh” she answered, and just hearing her voice brought a smile to my face.
“Can we meet at our regular spot? Only if you’re free” I added, unsure if she’d have time. I needed to hold her, to imprint her presence on my soul before leaving.
"Acha, thik hai. Main 20 minutes mein pahuchti hoon "she replied. I ended the call, a sense of relief washing over me.
Our spot was a secluded mountain cliff where we often spent time together, watching the sunset and soaking in nature’s beauty.
Damn traffic. It took me more than 30 minutes to get there. Parking my car hastily, I rushed up the hill.
I stopped in my tracks when I saw her. She stood there, sensing my presence, and slowly turned towards me.
