Chapter Ten
────────────────────The Battle of New York was finally over, and the city slowly began to recover from the massive destruction caused during the fierce fight. Loki, the God of Mischief, and his seemingly unstoppable army of Chitauri, an alien race of mercenaries, had been defeated. But who had won this seemingly hopeless battle? It was the Avengers, a diverse group of extraordinary individuals with superhuman abilities and a shared goal: to defend Earth.
In the days following the victory over Loki and the Chitauri, the Avengers were the central topic in all media. News agencies, television stations, and newspapers tirelessly reported on the brave heroes who had saved the city and ultimately the world. The Avengers consisted of a diverse group of personalities: Iron Man, the genius billionaire in his advanced armor; Thor, the mighty God of Thunder; Captain America, the patriotic super-soldier; Hulk, the green monster with unimaginable strength; Black Widow, the deadly spy; Hawkeye, the infallible archer; and Phoenix, the enigmatic agent with mysterious abilities.
Yet despite the spectacular victory, people's opinions about the sudden appearance of this group were divided. While some hailed the Avengers as saviors and heroes who made the impossible possible, others were concerned about the immense power these individuals possessed. Many wondered whether it was safe to concentrate such power in the hands of a small group. The public debate was sparked, and it seemed the world would long discuss the Avengers' role in society.
The day had finally come when Thor and Loki would see Asgard again. After all the turbulent events that had shaken Earth, it was time for the two gods to return to their homeland.
In Central Park, everyone had gathered to say their farewells. The sky was clear, yet a tense calm filled the air as the Avengers and their allies surrounded the two Asgardians.
Cat had kept his promise and handed Thor the Tesseract. But the scepter, which had caused so much havoc, remained in SHIELD's hands—securely stored to prevent further misuse. Dr. Selvig, the scientist whose mind had been under Loki's control for so long, handed Thor the Tesseract in a special container he had developed.
Thor took the cube, his strong hands firmly grasping the glowing artifact. His eyes, reflecting millennia-old wisdom, studied those present. Catarina, standing not far from him, stepped forward and looked up at him. Her words were quiet, almost lost in the gentle summer breeze: "Next time, hopefully, you won’t come because of your brother or an alien invasion." Thor smiled softly, a mixture of melancholy and confidence on his face. "I hope so too," he replied with his deep, reassuring voice, before bidding farewell to the other Avengers.
Catarina turned her gaze to Loki, whose face hardened as he noticed her serious expression. A spark of anger flashed in his eyes, but he said nothing. He knew this was not the place for words. Across the square stood Clint and Natasha. The red-haired Russian leaned slightly toward Clint and whispered something that brought a quiet smile to the archer's face.
