Fuyaiyah's Superior was waiting in front of the Maiden's village.
"And where have you been?"
She came prepared, and held up a shopping basket with feminine products she got only from the supply cabinet. The documents were under the products.
"I needed to buy some feminine products."
Her Superior marched toward her and looked ready to slap her again, but sighed and dragged her back to their village.
"If you ever knew how to listen, you would've known that we keep them in the supply cabinet!"
Fuyaiyah looked away. Her Superior continued on.
"You never showed up for the bath so now you'll have to bathe using cold water. You're lucky I'm merciful. But if you act up again, I'll alert the Overseers. Now hurry up and bathe. The lights have to be out in a bit."
Her Superior pushed her forward, and Fuyaiyah left. Her Superior stopped and sighed at Fuyaiyah's back.
"I don't want to see you have a harder time here. Gosh."
As expected. Fuyaiyah was alone, and took a quick bath in cold water. Despite such, she took a little longer than intended because her mind couldn't give her a break on thinking about Nali.
She was sure the mysterious one who saved her was Nali. A lot hadn't happened to prove it, but when the feminine figure asked why she was there, it wasn't what someone who didn't know her would ask.
Even when the lights went out, Fuyaiyah found a way to take a look in the document about their village that held their history. Each page was eventful, and she had to force herself to save the rest for later.
Then, after turning off her light source, she took out the arrow and studied its features.: it's shaft was painted magenta, and the two fletchings were a deep brown - the color of the attire of the ones that helped her. Then, after dozing off, she hid the items and joined Kithel in sleeping.
The next morning, Fuyaiyah and Kithel were rudely awakened. But this time, they didn't give their Superior dirty looks behind her back.
They both stood in the mirror getting dressed when their Superior returned to yell at them again banging on the door.
"Hurry up! New day, new tasks, same time!"
They both gave her a side look. Kithel turned to Fuyaiyah.
"We don't know each other's names but yet she's barking at us."
Fuyaiyah agreed. Their Superior overheard and stopped in her path, turning around a little. "Hey - don't let me catch either of you talking behind my back."
There was a pause. The girls thought they would get in trouble.
"Goodness. I was busy dealing with all this foolishness that we forgot introductions. Call me 'Mesha.'"
Both the girls looked at each other with surprised looks. Fuyaiyah was the first one to actually smile.
"It's not too late for introductions. I'm Fuyaiyah."
"Kithel." she also smiled.
Mesha looked surprised also. Then went back to her usual self.
"Okay, that's enough talking. And you." She looked at Fuyaiyah. "Don't think your words will make me forget about you disappearing last night!" Then she left.
Kithel looked at Fuyaiyah. "That's right - where did you go last night? I had to fall asleep by myself."
"Hurry up!"
Fuyaiyah shrugged, smiled, and left. Kithel inquired after her.
As promised, Fuyaiyah helped Junnie pick out the right items for her day's work and guided her through the processes of that which Junnie may have to do.
"I believe you can do the work we're given. You're just overwhelmed by our situation, perhaps."
Junnie sighed. "And you're not?"
Fuyaiyah smiled a little and said what she thought was true. "A part of me wakes up and still can't believe this is reality. But I find it good that they put us to work because then, I don't have time to think about it."
"That makes one of us." said Junnie and Fuyaiyah finished helping her. "Thanks for the help. I believe I'll be fine now."
"Of course, Junnie. Also, I just realized that we may be near each other going towards the afternoon, so I could check up on you then."
"Really? That's nice."
Then they went their separate ways.
On the way to their first task of the day, Mesha informed the girls that the entire Maiden's village will be helping out to put together a festival in town.
