Thump!
Fuyaiyah was forced to her knees in front of King Lenon. Queen Veronica closed her eyes, and Prince Tuquor's eyes went big at the sight of her.
"What is this?" asked the king.
Prince Kyuni was more than happy to tell.
"I already said it, father. She was a part of that group we tried to capture."
"Why is it only her then?"
He straightened his shoulders.
"She was the only one who felt deep remorse for her actions. I found her crying in the grass."
By then, Fuyaiyah was no longer drowning in emotion by Nali. She had confirmed that it was her. Nali tried to protect her, she heard her voice, and felt her warm touch. But most importantly, she saw her flee and she had no doubt that Nali was safe. Her mind was no longer filled with Nali, so she was intune again with what she needed to do.
Therefore, she didn't hear when she was asked directly about the situation.
"Fuyaiyah! I asked you a question!" said the King.
She looked up at him.
"I asked you if you have anything to say for yourself! You have already done countless wrongdoings! I let you serve directly under royalty but you don't seem appreciative of it. I planned to leave you in that dungeon, but I let you out by grace. And now I find out you've been a part of a group who threatens my Kingdom? I almost can't believe it. So I'd very much like to hear what you have to say in defense."
Fuyaiyah gave a sincere bow.
"I've done something irreversible."
"That's right." Almost everyone in the room was pleased.
"Therefore, please, convey to the Princess my deep apologies."
With that, she quickly ran out of the throne room. The Queen immediately went to work and also exited the room, where Thylin awaited his next orders.
Many people were already on her tail, but she only focused on getting Bon-bon, who was being taken to the royal stables. She knew where the stables were, so she was able to go a completely different route to avoid the mass of the guards, and it was still dark too, so she wasn't worried about getting caught.
However, when she did arrive at the stables, the horse keepers gathered around and instigated one of the keepers, who was sitting with a relieved look.
"Where's Fuyaiyah's horse? We have orders from the King to hide her away."
The sitting keeper got tense.
"What? Impossible! An Official came here with orders from the Queen to transfer the horse into town."
"What? Which Official?"
"That shady-looking one."
"All of them are pretty shady."
The men began debating what to do. Meanwhile, despite her situation, she almost laughed aloud at how people viewed Thylin as she ran off towards a place she knew no one would be.
This place, however, caused her to pass by Princess Zyla's chamber. She passed by quieter, but to her surprise, Princess Zyla stood in front of the back door and held the cloth with her things inside. She didn't look at her; only held the cloth out to her.
Fuyaiyah felt the guilt, and couldn't move.
"Hurry and escape from my family. That's your last order." Princess Zyla said before throwing her items at her and shutting herself inside her chamber.
Tears waited in Fuyaiyah's eyes. She then took her time to bow very low in the snow. Then she ran off.
The place she spoke of was the edge of the Palace. The wall that connected the Royal Palace to the Maiden's villages. The Embroidery village was the closest, so, after doing a last minute thing, Fuyaiyah made her way on the wall but found herself sitting on it.
She looked at the Royal Palace from the high place. The Palace should've been dark by this time of night, but lights, fires and lanterns were turned on and she heard distant voices of irritation from looking for her.
"Let's just not get violent, okay?" she thought, before dropping down all the way in the snow and continuing on.
Junnie gasped. "Fuya?"
"Sorry to wake you up in your sleep. Help me escape without being seen - please?"
Junnie smiled wide and went to get her cloak.
Junnie led her best friend through a path that, indeed, looked safe. No footprints were in the snow, and the plants grew wild.
"I'm so glad you're safe, and that you thought about my help." was the only thing she said the entire time. Even when the path for Junnie ended.
