CHAPTER 27

HER

"A-ah, Peach..."

Napatingin naman ako sakanya as he called me, but he didn't even say anything... making me raise a brow.

Problema nito?

"Jun?"

"Ahm, nothing- nevermind." He just smiled, and continued to walk along.

After a long moment of silence, we then arrived in front of my apartment building, "I... uh, Shannen..."

Ok, now this is rare... him calling me that.

"Hmm? What is it?"

I stared at his face that seemed to show he was worried about something. I began to feel uneasy... or nervous? At the same time, maybe- I don't exactly know... but my heart is racing and that says something.

Tatanong na ulit sana ako nung hindi pa siya umimik... but he suddenly let out an obvious awkward chuckle.

"Haha... wala, gusto ko lang sabihin na I really enjoyed today. Ganun, haha."

It sounds unbelievable, but I didn't want to pry any longer... kasi gusto ko nang umalis dito, wanting to hide out of embarrassment of what he just said.

Parang nahihiya pa ang pag-sabi niya.

"A-ahh... ganun ba, akala ko kung ano naman eh."

This time he let out a genuine soft laugh and smiled, "Ito naman si Peach eh... ano ba inakala mo sasabihin ko?" I was dumbfounded.

Bakit ko ba naisip yun?

"Hm, w-wala naman. Thank you, again... for walking me home." He looked like he didn't believe me and I can't really blame him, I sounded unconvincing even to my own ears. But thankfully he didn't bite into it and just let it be.

"Your welcome..."

"I'll see you later?"

He seemed unsure, scratching the back of his head. I let out a chuckle, finding the impression clumsy and awkward.

"See you later, Peach."

A week had passed and everything seemed fine, except for the fact that something had changed but I can't seem to point it out. With how everything's going, for the first time, it made me look forward to what may come in the future.

I'm currently on my way to practice, since ako yung bagong captain, I had to be responsible for setting schedules for our practices. Which is tiring and I'm starting to regret my life choices- but oh well, it still seemed fun anyway.

"Ouy, nandito na si Capt!" Narinig kong sigaw ng mga kasama ko pagpasok ko ng gym.

"Nag-warm up na ba kayo guys?" Tanong ko sa kanila habang nilapag ang bag ko sa bleachers.

"Tapos na Capt., mag-sstart na ba tayo?"

"You guys can start reviewing the routine. I'll just warm-up." Tumango naman si Cass tsaka bumalik kung saan nakapwesto ang ibang cheer dancers.

As I was warming-up, bigla naman tumunog ang cellphone ko. Kumunot ang noo ko doon, tsaka nilapitan kung saan naka-tabi nito ang bag ko. Lumawak ang mga mata ko sa nakita ko kung sino ang tumatawag. I hesitated to answer and let it ring for more than a minute.

"Hindi mo ba sasagutin yan Capt?" napatingin ako sa kasama ko at umiling.

"Nah, hindi naman importante." I put my phone in silent mode tsaka inaya na ang mga kasama ko mag-start ng practice namin.
