CHAPTER 7

HIM

"Dude..." I started as I closed the door, "I uhh–"

"Seriously Jun? We've set some rules here right?"

"I know..."

"What were the rules?"

"No mess in the living room, which in fact wala naman–"

"Keep going."

"No going through each other's stuff, which–"

"Jun..."

"Ok, and no bringing girls. But Senia comes here dude–"

"That's different, and you know what it means by 'no bringing girls here', don't try to change the subject."

"We were just... eating here dude, and you can bring Rachel here if you want to– aray! Joke lang."

"She slept here, right?" I sighed at that and nodded, "Dude, and you've.... How long has this been going?"

"About a month..."

"A month!?"

"Ok maybe two or three months. But this is the first time we stayed here, promise." I said honestly, I heard him sigh, and when I looked at him he seemed disappointed, "Are you mad..."

"No... but you could have just told me." umiwas naman siya ng tingin sa akin, "We're best friends, right?" I felt more guilty as he said that.

"Sorry, very truly deeply sorry dude..." I went closer to him, and hugged him.

"Yeah."

"So... we're good?"

"Is that even a question? Of course..." Napangiti ako doon.

"So I can bring her here sometimes–" I leaned back and looked at him expectantly.

"I'll just act like I never heard that." Umalis naman siya sa harap ko and went out of the room, making me chuckle.

I followed behind and saw how Elias seemed to walk on eggshells around Shannen. I almost let out a laugh, but I didn't want Elias to get mad at me even more kaya I kept my mouth shut and went near them.

"Have breakfast muna dude, we have plenty enough for you." tumango naman si Elias, and we both sat down. Tumabi ako kay Shannen, and si Elias naman nasa harap namin.

I looked beside me, and saw Shannen, who was just continuing on eating... I could sense that she was uncomfortable, so I lowkey nudged her, making her look at me, giving her a reassuring smile. I glanced back at Elias who seemed to be doing the same, just eating, not even looking up at his plate.

"Dude, uy dahan-dahan lang sa pagkain, mamaya ma bilaukan ka." Elias looked up with his infamous blank look, to which I responded in a shrug. He slightly scrunched his nose and returned to eating. I looked at Shannen once again, who only seemed to shrug and looked away. I let out a sigh at that.

When we were done eating, I was about to clean up but Elias had already gone ahead first to clean the table, placing the plates on the sink and started washing them. Napakunot noo ako and napatingin kay Shannen who still sat there, looking a bit fidgety. I walked close to her and grabbed her hand.

"Let's sit on the couch?" I said, tugging her hand, smiling. Tumango naman siya and we both went to the couch, leaving Elias in the kitchen. I turned on the tv and played a movie.

After a couple of minutes, mukhang natapos na si Elias sa paghugas since he came out of the kitchen wiping his hands dry. Lumapit siya sa amin but he suddenly halted, and looked at both me and Shannen.
