Ramirah Shiloh Capri

My shift had dragged on for what felt like 100 days and 100 nights. Im exhausted, my feet are sore and my spirit is tired. I want nothing but to be in the arms of my baby. As I pulled into the garage to our apartment, the thought of Solana waiting for me made everything feel a bit better.

The apartment door opened , and I was greeted by the familiar scent mahogany teakwood candles around the house.I noticed Solana wasn't in the living room so I dropped my bag and shoes by the door. I walked to our home office and I heard the sound of Solana's voice making me want to jump in her lap and stay there forever.

"Hi baby" I muttered feeling my sound voice tired "I'm finally off"

Solana looked up from her computer with a smirk that made my heart skip, today was a long day and I really missed my baby while I was at work.

"Hey mama, you look like you've been working hard." She motioned me over

I practically plopped on her lap. Solana's arms wrapped around me with a firmness that instantly soothed my aching muscles and made me feel much better than I did 10 minutes ago."I missed you so much,"I murmured, pressing my face into Solana's neck as she leaned back in her chair.

Solana's hands roamed up and down my back, a string of tiny squeezes and rubbing in a comforting way "I missed you too mama. I've been counting down the hours until they released my baby from the shackles of the hospital."I laughed at her childishness.

"I need to start cooking baby" I mumbled slightly not wanting to get up. I pulled back slightly and placed a kiss on her cheek before explaining what I'm making "I'm making baked ziti with garlic bread, and salad for dinner tonight."

Solana's eyes widened like she was inlove which made me giggle, she's so greedy. "Are you on the menu for dessert tonight? I promise I can eat the stress out of you.." she smirked making me laugh.

"That's a lot of stress." I shook my head, laughing.

"Girl are you doubting me?" She pretended to be hurt and I just shook my head, playfully rolling my eyes.

"Can you boil a pot of water for me baby, while I take a shower quickly" I asked her and she nodded.

As I started prepping dinner, I noticed that Solana transformed our living room into a cozy space for us making me smile. She spread out blankets and pillows on the couch and even poured me a glass of wine.

It's crazy I didn't even have to say anything about what I needed and she knew exactly what to do to make me feel better. That's why we have no choice but to get married, it just makes sense.

"Look at you," I stated nodding over the set up "You always know how to make me feel better."I didn't know if it's because my period is coming soon but everything made me so emotional.

Solana smirked, flexing her muscles playfully. "Well you know me, I'll do whatever to make you smile mama."

I smiled, nodding my head slightly pressing a small kiss on her lips.

I cleaned the kitchen quickly and fixed our plates and then we settled down on the couch with our plates half way finished, the movie Love Jones played on the TV.
