After a very courageous effort against very talented teams, the Colgate Raiders begin the 2020 ECAC Hockey Tournament against the Brown University Bears in a best of three, winner take all series. With 4:23 left in the first period, Jared Cockrell scored his seventh goal of the season to make it 1-0 Colgate. Mitch Benson and Gavin Nieto matched zeros for the remainder of the period so 1-0 Raiders we stand heading to the second period. Benson and Nieto matched zeros in the second period so Colgate's lead remains 1-0 heading to the third period. With 5:21 left in the third period, Bobby McMann scored his tenth goal of the season, on the power play to make it 2-0 Hamiltonians. With 37 seconds left in the third period, Ben Sharf scored his tenth goal of the season, into an empty net to make it 3-0 Colgate! Mitch Benson finished off the 19 save shutout and Colgate wins game number one 3-0! Colgate leads the series 1-0 looking to sweep the series with a win tomorrow night!
