"Can I get some water please?" Akari asked one of the nearby staff.

"Sure!" The man nodded and handed her a bottle of water.

"Thank you!" Akari quickly drinks the water bottle to the last drop. Enjoying the refreshing taste of water.

Phew! I was getting a little dehydrated from using water from my own body. I'd hate to not be able to go at my full potential.

"Do you want mine?"

Akari turns to Shouto as he offers his water bottle. She smiled at his action.

"I'm good! I didn't use too much of my own water. Besides, you must be thirsty from all that running."

The boy shook his head, "I'm fine. I don't need it. Your quirk depends on you being fully hydrated so I won't take no for an answer."

Akari was happy he cared for her and happily accepted the bottle.

"Okay, thank you!"

She drank from the bottle but stopped when she reached midway and handed the bottle back to her soulmate.

"That's all I need! You take the rest, I won't take no for an answer!" She grinned as she sends him a wink.

She walks away so he doesn't try to give it back to her. She does notice that he begins drinking his water bottle.

It was then that Midnight's enthusiastic voice booms out, just as the last student makes his way out of the tunnel.

"The top 42 have won the right to advance! Now then, onto today's heart-pounding second event!" Midnight gestured once more to a projection that materialized beside her. "Behold!" The display this time read 'HUMAN CAVALRY BATTLE'.

Isn't that a team game?

Asui piped up, echoing Akari's thoughts. "But that's not a game that works with players acting as individuals. How will we do it?"

Midnight ran a hand through her raven locks, still grinning widely. "You will be forming teams, of course! The participants are going to form teams of two to four people by themselves and get into a horse-rider formation. The rules are pretty much the same as a normal cavalry battle – steal your opponent's headband while protecting your own. With one exception, for the intentions of this match, everyone will receive varying points depending on their performance in the last trial."

I see...So the point value of each cavalry unit will vary depending on who's in it...

"But first place's worth is... 10 million points!!"

Akari along with the rest of the students immediately turned toward the green haired boy. His face had gone pale and he was now sweating profusely.

"T-ten million..?" He managed to utter.

Poor Midoriya...

Akari shot the green haired boy a pitying look, knowing he would be targeted by all of the competitors.

"Ahem." Midnight cleared her throat, beckoning for everyone's attention. "The time limit is 15 minutes. The point value of each group's headband is worth the total point accumulation of each of the warhorse's members. And the one to wear the headband will of course be the warhorse's rider! Until time is up, you will all be fighting and stealing as many of each other's headbands as you can. Even if you lose your headband, you're not out of the game until time runs out!"

"Quirks are of course allowed! No foul play! Now, you have 15 minutes before the start of the battle, start negotiating your team-ups!" With those words, Midnight dismissed the group.
