Ch 21: Confrontation

After her hasty exit, Akari arrives at the mess hall and gets in line to order food. She sighs as she finally relaxes.

Phew, it's a good thing All Might arrived when he did. Endeavor was acting weird, grabbing me like that.

She looks down at the spot where Endeavor had his eyes set.

He was looking at my soulmate mark... Did Shouto not tell him about me?

Though given how much Shouto hates his Dad, I guess it shouldn't be a surprise.

I really hope to not bump into him again...

Before long, it is Akari's turn to order and she buys a water, a soda, and an onigiri to truly sate her hunger as she walks back to Bakugo.

She munches on the onigiri as she walked back to the forest-like area she was a moment ago. She almost chokes on the onigiri when she sees Midoriya and Shouto come out of the darkened hallway.

She's confused to see them together but in a way, it makes sense as Midoriya was entering the hallway when she was leaving but she wondered what they could be talking about.

Before she could wonder further, Shouto meets her gaze, his heterochromic eyes widening slightly at the sight of her. He begins to walk in her direction but she panics, thinking of their earlier interaction and before she could think about it more, she runs away.

God, why?! First I bumped into his Dad and now he appears! Ugh, talk about awful luck!

Akari thinks bitterly as she finishes chewing the last bite of the onigiri.

She turns back as she wondered if he had followed her. Thankfully, Shouto had not followed her.

She felt a mixture of relief and sadness at the fact.

"The hell you looking back for?" She hears a familiar gruff ask.

She turns towards the voice and sees her blonde spiky haired classmate.

"Bakugo? Why aren't you waiting by the waterfall?" She asked.

"You took so damn long, figured you got lost or something." He answered with a frown.

"Aw, and you came to my rescue?" Akari teased.

"Tch, no! I want my soda!" He spat and took the soda from her hands before drinking it all in one go. "The hell! Why did you get me lemon soda?!"

Did he not see it was lemon before he drink it?

"You just told me soda, you didn't specify which kind."

Geez, so ungrateful.

"Orange! I like orange soda!" The blonde boy yelled.

"Okay, okay...!"

"Tch, I'll go with you this time, don't want you fucking up my order again!" Bakugo grumbled as he led her to the mess hall.

Akari rolled her eyes but before they could walk far into the mess hall, a loud voice rang out.

"Now that lunch is over, it's finally time to reveal the last game!!" Present Mic's loudly announced.

Akari notices that students are heading back into the arena.

"Guess your orange soda is going to have to wait...!" Akari grinned and followed the throng of students out into the arena. Bakugo cursed under his breath but followed right behind her.

They arrived at the arena before long but Akari was left without words at the sight in front of her.

"Is our class stupid or what....?!" Bakugo growled right next to her.
