Another Day

On this bright and early morning, the three children could be seen together in Athy's palace. Athy sat there with a downcast gaze while the twins held teacups in their hands.

What were they doing, you ask? Athy was thinking about how recruiting those new maids had not been a good idea. As for the twins, they were cussing out Claude. Azrael and Ambrose only found out that the knights would be guarding them constantly AFTER they were already hired.

If the children had known otherwise, they would have definitely not chosen to keep any of the new servants.

Athy was complaining to the twins about how instead of Claude giving her extra maids, he replaced her previous maids with them. To Athy, that meant that the maids she put the effort into making them side with her (AKA: the chocolate training – Making them fall for her cuteness and gaining chocolate.) was all gone.

The twins sat there nodding, silently agreeing with Athy's complaints (insults) directed at the emperor (who they thought likely had grass for brains). What made this situation all the better was the three knights and two nannies off to the side in the room.

The knights stilled and paled as they were unsure of what to make of the 'complaints' about the emperor and the nannies were desperately trying to contain their laughter. The knights' faces paled further when Ambrose finally joined in on the sland- complaining.

"That overgrown ice sculpture needs to just leave us be." Ambrose carelessly stated, his bored expression making it clear he didn't care.

"Ambrose, mind your words, we have... company... here." Azrael said slowly, glancing at the knights with a hint of warning. He gave them a half-hearted smile while tilting his head slightly.

"I want to see Hannah and Seth." Athy said meekly as she rested her chin on her hand.

"You'll be able to see them again if the Princess wants to." Lily said. And the twins just looked at her with a slightly exasperated expression.

*Who in the world would believe that??? * Ambrose questioned.

*Apparently, she thinks our dear Athy would. * Azrael responded while lightly shaking his head.

"When?" Athy asked.

"Umm, in 10 days?" Lily responded in a less than convincing tone, her voice wavering slightly.

'I don't believe that.' Athy deadpanned her expression clearly showing she wasn't buying it. Lily started to sweat when she realised that Athy hadn't bought what she said.

Just then, Felix spoke up, completely oblivious to the brewing tension. "You could try talking to his majesty."

"PFFT— "Ambrose let out a laugh before doubling over and leaning on his brother.

Azrael turned his head to the side away from the knight, hand lifted to stifle his laugh, the occasional shaking, indicating that he was indeed laughing.

Athy's mouth was wide open, a queasy, exasperated expression on her small face. The response she got from the knight was a confused look. If Felix didn't know any better (which he didn't), he would have thought Athy's expression was one of shock (which it was).

"By the way, his majesty said that he wanted to have his feast together with the princes and princess."

And with that, the twins' laughter stopped and Athy's mouth snapped close. A sour mood now hung in the air, and the temperature seemed to drop by hundreds. The twins turned as cold as a frozen lake and Athy turned pale as a ghost.

Lily was unsure of how to take this situation while Lyn was amused by the twins' quick change in demeanour, chuckling to herself.
