William pov:
"Bonding time?" I raised an eyebrow at Kevin, "you want us all to have some bonding time?" Of all the people to suggest this I was not expecting it from Kevin, yet the way things have been going for the past couple of months maybe I shouldn't be so surprised.
"Yes, there have been lots of arguments happening," I glanced over at Ryan and then moved my gaze over to Chase and found them looking at each other as Kevin talked. "So I'm suggesting we spend a night having some bonding time."
"Before I give my opinion," Chase speaks up from his spot next to me on the couch, "I need to know what your version of bonding time is."
I nod in agreement, most of the other drivers do too.
"I agree with Chase, what is your version of bonding? Cause you old people usually have wacked ideas." Ty said, I laughed along with a few other younger drivers, while the older ones glared at Ty. Martin leaned over and smacked him on the back of the head.
Kevin sighed and rolled his eyes, "well I was thinking something like a movie night or a board game night or something along those lines."
"Does something along those lines mean we can add suggestions?" Ryan asks, Kevin nodded. "Well then I suggest an outside night game."
"Yes!" Alex and Bubba yell at the same time.
"Heaven help us." Denny muttered under his breath.
"Grog." Chase suggested, I nodded instantly.
"Yes! I love that game." I said.
"And what the heck is Grog?" Joey asked,
"It's like tag mixed with capture the flag, I don't know but it's fun." Ryan supplied.
"Or we could do mission impossible." Alex suggested.
"Also love that game." I commented.
"And what is mission impossible?" Denny asked.
"Mission impossible is where one or two people are IT, depending on how many people are playing, and if it's at night they usually get a flashlight. Everybody else is trying to get from the starting point to the end point without getting caught by the IT people. If you get caught, you go back to the starting point and then try again." Chase explained quickly.
"It's less running then Grog, it's mainly sneaking around." Ryan added.
"Okay, fine let's do this mission impossible thingy." Martin said with a sigh, not looking very enthusiastic.
Ryan pov:
We had decided that Bubba, Daniel and Alex would be IT first. We then decided that the back door of the house would be the starting point and that the shed at the back of our massive backyard would be the end point. I, like everyone else, had changed into all black clothes however, William and I had taken it a step farther and had painted our faces black. I had tried to convince Chase to do the same but he refused.
I turned to look at William who was standing next to me, I could barely see him. The moonlight kept it from being completely pitch black so I could see the outline of him but other than that he was just a black shadow with a pair of eyes. I jumped a little when his teeth suddenly appeared as he smiled. "This is awesome." I whispered,
"We look like we're about to go on some mission with Ethan Hunt." William whispered back.
"No you both look like idiots." We both turn to glare at Chase, who shrugged. "Just stating facts."
"Well thanks Mr.Happy-Go-Lucky." I say sarcastically, Chase just snorted.
Alex clapped his hands, "okay folks, you can count to thirty and then start." With that he, Daniel and Bubba ran off into the darkness, their head lamps bobbing as they ran.
"1 Mississippi" William started counting out loud, "2 Mississippi, 3 Mississippi."
"This is painful." Denny groaned.
"4 Mississippi, 5 Mississippi."
"You lasted less than 5 seconds." Ross said, I was willing to bet money he was rolling his eyes right now.
"6 Mississippi, 7 Mississippi, 8 Mississippi."
"We should have set a timer, this is painful." Denny grumbled.
"9 Mississippi, 10 Mississippi, 11 Mississippi."
"Denny, shut up, please." Kevin also sounded like he was rolling his eyes right now.
"12 Mississippi, 13 Mississippi, 15 Mississippi."
"You skipped 14!" Chase yelled,
"Did I?"
"William, how can you not count to 30 properly?" I asked bursting into laughter.
"Well maybe if Denny would have shut up I would have been able to concentrate." William defended.
"Oh so it's my fault?" Denny asks sounding annoyed.
"Why do you need to concentrate to count to 30?" Tyler asked.
"Oh shush all of you, now where was I? 16 Mississippi, 17 Mississippi.."
"You still missed 14!"
"Chase shut up!" Denny quickly said.
"18 Mississippi, 19 Mississippi."
"I'm going." I said and stared walking away.
"I didn't make it to 30 yet!" William whined,
"It's been over thirty seconds." Chase said as he followed me.
"I agree." Denny says also walking away.
"Fine." William muttered as he followed me and Chase.
"Let the 1st annual Mission Impossible Games start." Chase says.
The three of us ran as silently as possible over the trees along one side of the backyard.
"What's the plan?" William whispered as we slowed to a walk and started through the trees. "Well you and I can disappear next a tree but Mr. No-Fun over here will have to get more creative." I whispered back.
"Sorry I didn't want to paint my entire face black." Chase whispers.
I freeze and Chase bumps into me, "why'd you stop?" He whispers.
"Maybe because I can see a flashlight coming our way." I whisper back as I point towards the beam of light up ahead that I had spotted. I quickly ran to a tree and put my back against it, William did the same with a tree about five feet away. Chase much to my surprise, jumps and grabs a branch of my tree and halls himself up onto it. I watch as he climbs a bit higher before sitting down on a branch.
"Creativity." He whispers down to me, I snort quietly.
The flashlight is now brighter as whoever it is gets closer. I almost laugh out loud at how well our plan worked as Alex strolls right on by us, I peak around my tree and watch him as he walks by. I suddenly feel something hit my head, I glance up just in time to have a pinecone smack my face. I glare up a Chase, who I'm sure is evilly smiling right now.
I turn back to watch Alex who has now stopped and is looking around, great job Chase I think great job. Then I hear something smack Williams tree, I look up at Chase again and can just make out him throwing pinecones towards
William. I clamp a hand over my mouth to keep myself from laughing. I hear William make a sound, I assume one hit him. I peak out and Alex who has turned around and is walking towards Williams tree.
"Aha! My first victim!" Alex says as he gets closer to William, "Willy B, you may start to walk of shame back to the start." I hear William groan in annoyance.
"I have such annoying teammates!" William says loudly as he stomps back towards the start. I bite my lip to keep from laughing.
Alex shines the flashlight around a little more but luckily doesn't come towards our tree, he then continues on. We wait till he's a ways away before moving, I step away from the tree and wait for Chase to climb down, a minute later he jumps to the ground and grins at me.
"You sir, are evil." I whisper while laughing.
"He'll be fine." Chase says while shrugging, "come on let's go." He says and we start moving again.
