The morning had been chaotic as usual, with everyone scrambling to get ready for the day. In the midst of the madness, something went terribly wrong—a small mishap that could've derailed their plans: the coffee maker gave out. No coffee.
The effect was immediate and dire. Checo, Valtteri, and Carlos were not happy. All three sat silently, radiating an intense, almost palpable displeasure that made everyone around them uneasy.
Carlos was the first to start fuming, his frustration spilling out in rapid, hissed Spanish. Charles, ever the attentive boyfriend, tried to soothe him with soft kisses and gentle cuddles, but the Spaniard's irritation only seemed to grow. He rambled on, too agitated to be calmed by Charles's affection.
Next to them, Valtteri sat glaring at everyone in the room, his blue eyes icy. Zhou, in an attempt to help, offered him a bit of his matcha tea, but the Finn simply rolled his eyes in response. Lewis, watching the exchange, quickly reassured Zhou not to take it personally. Then, turning to Valtteri, Lewis scolded his boyfriend gently.
"You don't get to treat anyone like that over coffee, understand?" Lewis said firmly, grabbing Valtteri by the neck with a tender yet authoritative touch and pulling him in for a kiss.
Valtteri nodded in response, but it didn't stop him from snapping at everyone and everything around him. The lack of coffee had turned him into a grumpy bear, and nothing seemed to sooth him.
Checo, on the other hand, looked like a sad puppy, pouting in a way that tugged at the heartstrings of those around him. His forlorn expression was too much for Max to handle. Unable to watch his teammate suffer any longer, Max shoved Kevin, Hulk, and even Kimi out of the way with a determined look on his face.
"Let me," Max said, his voice full of quiet confidence as he approached the malfunctioning machine.
He quickly figured out why the coffee machine wasn't working, tinkering with it for a few moments while everyone else watched in anxious silence. Finally, the machine sputtered to life, emitting a few promising sounds before it began brewing coffee again.
"Don't worry, Checo," Max said with a reassuring smile. "It'll be ready in a bit."
Checo's face lit up, and the tension in the room began to dissipate as the aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air.
With a smug grin, Max declared, "As always, Max has to save the day."
Checo, who had been watching Max work with a mix of amusement and mild exasperation, couldn't help but play along. With a dramatic sigh, he clutched his chest as if he were the damsel in distress. "And as always, Sergio has to be the maiden in danger, waiting to be saved."
Max, caught off guard by the comment, burst out laughing. "Yeah, and you play the part so well! All you're missing is the flowing gown."
Checo threw his head back in mock despair. "Oh, Max, my hero! Whatever would I do without you?" He fluttered his eyelashes dramatically, drawing even more laughter from the others in the room.
Lando, grinning from ear to ear, decided to join in. "Careful, Max, you'll have to start rescuing him from more than just broken coffee machines. Next, it'll be dragons!"
Max leaned into the joke, striking a heroic pose. "Fear not, fair maiden Checo! I shall protect you from all evils, including faulty coffee machines and... Lando's terrible jokes."
Checo, not missing a beat, sighed with exaggerated relief. "Oh, thank goodness! I was so worried I'd have to face another one of Lando's puns all by myself."
Lando pretended to be offended, crossing his arms. "Hey, my jokes are legendary!"
Max gave Checo a playful nudge. "Don't worry, I've got this. No puns or mishaps will get past me while you're around."
Checo smirked, playing along. "Good, because if something else goes wrong, I'll be expecting you to swoop in and save me again. Just try not to mess up my hair while you're at it."
Max laughed and pretended to dust off his hands. "Done and done. You're in good hands, Checo."
The lighthearted exchange brought a wave of laughter through the room, the playful dynamic between Max and Checo.
