My hope is to post a chapter each day or every other day. I have most the chapters broken out, its just a matter of writing the details and then reviewing them before posting.

I am so excited to post this chapter because this is the first look at Tyler and OC's relationship and how that starts.

As I said in the previous chapter this story is following the events of Twisters, with changes being made to include an OC relationship with Tyler instead of Kate (because I just couldn't help it.)

It important to note, that I have absolutely no background in storm chasing, just what I think sounds cool in my head and what the internet tells me. :)

I own my OC and the errors nothing more nothing less.

After the surprise of my two friends standing in the hallway of my apartment at the ass crack of dawn, I finally let them in telling them to give me ten minutes to process and change before they bombarded me with whatever 'this' was.

"Okay, not that I'm not thrilled to see you guys, but... what are you two doing her?" I asked coming out of my room as I pulled a flannel shirt on over my tank top. Stepping up to the counter I grabbed one of the three coffees that Javi had brought and leaned on the counter. Kate sat herself in front of me at the counter and Javi walked around, anxiously wringing his hands together.

"Damn Anna," he said finally turning to look at me. He looked older than the last time I had seen him, but I guess five years would do that to you. He was dressed in a collared shirt and dress pants, and his once long hair typically pulled back was cut short. "Working as a systems analyst for NOAA, I'm impressed."

"Yeah, well..." I shrugged feeling bashful at the sentiment at my employment. After the tornado I looked for schooling outside of Oklahoma. I wanted to finish my degree and sit behind a computer where I couldn't hurt anyone, or watch people get hurt, where I could make a difference. "Numbers and data are easy for me. What have you been doin'?" I questioned still trying to wrap my head around his appearance change.

"After..." His voice trailed off and he looked at his feet, stuffing his hands in his pocket. Clearing his throat, I watched his shoulder rise as he took a deep breath and moved towards Kate and I. "I joined the military, tryin' to find my place ya know."

"Yeah, I get that." I nodded and the conversation died leaving us in silence.

"So, Javi has a project he's working on." Kate finally spoke, breaking the quiet, and I slowly lifted my head to look at her, curiosity piquing my interest. Javi pulled out his phone and showed me a picture of him in his military uniform with a large piece of equipment behind him. Handing the phone back to him I scowled waiting for them to continue with more details.

"It's called Phase to A Ray radar, or PAR radar." Javi explained and I could hear the excitement in his voice. "This thing is powerful, can show you a ladybug in the next county over, and when I was working on it, I kept wonderin'... what if... what if we could point this thing at a tornado?"

"I'm sure you've already figured out the size issue?" I questioned feeling my lungs catch as I tried to taper my anxiety down knowing where this conversation was about to lead.

"Portable units." He nodded. I watched as he came closer. Slowly I lifted the coffee to my lips and watched as he took his own coffee and placed it in the center of my counter. He then reached into the decorative bowl at the edge of the counter and pulled out three rocks, placing them in a triangle around the cup. "Imagine placing three units in a triangle around a tornado. With one we get data and images that are incredible, but placing two more will give us..."
