This is the one that drove the whole re-write idea.

The rodeo scene was one of my favorites from the movie and I am so excited to post this.

I own Anna and my errors.

ANNABELLE'S POV

Something about what Tyler had said about the Storm PAR investor had me curious. After watching him snap at me and walk away, then finding out where the proceeds for his cheesy shirts went, had me wondering who the better person was morally. Pulling the heating pad from the motel microwave, I awkwardly wrapped it to my aching shoulder before grabbing my laptop and sitting on the bed. The news caster on the TV was rambling on about the tornado as I typed 'Marshall Riggs' into the search engine. The first link that came up was to the man's direct sight and at the top of the page in capital letters 'WE BUY LAND!'

"What the hell?" I whispered to myself scowling at the picture of the man in the bolo tie and cowboy hat grinning in front of a haybale. I knew Javi... had gone to school with him, stayed up late researching with him... he wouldn't profit from the misfortunes of others... would he? My thoughts were immediately cut off by a knock on the motel door.

Ignoring the protest in my arm, I shut the laptop and stood up opening the door. I expected Kate to be there, or Javi... what I didn't expect to see was Tyler Owens standing awkwardly in front of me holding a small pizza box. I raised an eyebrow at him curiously as he stood there.

"Uh, Kate said you were staying out by the rodeo; thought you might be hungry." He said lifting the box slightly. Nodding my head I held my hand out waiting. Handing me the box I gave him a small smile before shutting the door. Before the door closed, I could see the expression on his face change from relief to confusion. I was still mad at him for the way he all but attacked me for working with Storm PAR. Setting the box on the bed, I leaned down and pulled the lid open. The smell that wafted through the small room made my mouth water. I hadn't realized I was hungry until this moment. We had left early this morning, and I had turned down Lily's offer of food earlier. As I stared at the pizza a bit longer and looked over my shoulder at the door. Closing my eyes and shaking my head I grabbed a slice of the pizza and walked back towards the door, opening it.

Sure enough, Tyler was still standing there. When the door opened, he let out a relieved breath and a small smile spread across his face. Taking a bite of the food in my hands I leaned on the door frame watching him relax slightly leaning on the opposite side of the door.

"You find the dog?" I asked before taking another bite.

"Of course I found the dog." He shrugged, nodding to me with a small scowl before continuing. "How you doin' after all that?"

Thinking about my answer for a second, I tossed the crust of the pizza into the garbage beside me and brushed my hands together shaking my head. "Doesn't really matter how I am, I didn't just lose a home." I kept my eyes at the ground as I spoke, the silence that followed making me uncomfortable.

"I... uh... I don't know what Marshell Riggs has to do with Storm PAR." I sighed crossing my arms across my chest and looking up at him. "I went to school with Javi, he just asked for some help with his project."

I watched as Tyler closed his own eyes in realization of what he had said earlier and nodded.

"I'm sorry 'bout that." He sighed softly; his eyes soft with regret. "Look, you've... uh, you've seen the worst of this place..." Tyler said quietly his brows pinched together when I looked up at him. His green eyes met mine when he continued, "thought it'd be nice for you to see something good."
