Stay Strong ( short chapter )

*3 weeks later today was the day I met with my attorney to review my case I must admit I was so nervous but after all she's one of the best lawyer's out there. I took one last look in the mirror then adjusted my glasses " you ready baby" Levi walked into the room wearing a black suit and white tie he looked so good in his suit I bit my lip. " hello you hear me ?" I guess he knew what I was thinking I nodded my head yes and we left the room Aunt Bessie we're about to go now if you need anything just call me okay. She walked over to the door with Josiah on her hip " Okay baby y'all be safe now I'm praying for the best don't you worry yourself " I smiled okay Aunt Bessie I won't I kissed her on her cheek then Josiah's be good baby mommy loves you " love you too mommy bye daddy" he waved to Levi " be good Lil man daddy and mommy will be back later " he unlocked the car doors and we got in. I took a deep breath as we pulled out the driveway Levi grabbed my hand " Relax babe" I gave him a slight smiled and rubbed his hand I will baby. We pulled up to the law firm I took a deep breath and got out of the car Levi grabbed my hand and we walked into the building towards the front desk a heavyset brown skin woman motioned us to come over to her. " Are you Brooklyn Adames" she smiled yes I am " she's ready for you now" she guided us to the elevators we entered and she pushed the button that went to the fifth floor. I looked up to Levi he didn't seem nervous at all the elevator came to a stop and the three of us exited she scanned her id and the door open " Take a seat here can I get you all something while you wait" " no thank you" Levi responded " okay well I'll go get her" she smiled and walked out of the office. The door handle twisted and my lawyer Mrs. Erica McCoy walked in she was very pretty she had light brown hair that was cut into a neck length bob she stood about 5'9 smooth brownskin and big dark brown eyes. She smiled and reached her hand out towards me " Its so nice to finally meet you Brooklyn " I smiled its nice to meet you too " Is this your husband ?" She turned towards Levi and shook his hand " No but soon to be" I blushed did he really mean those words. " cute couple" she walked around the desk and took a seat in front of us " Brooklyn please tell me about your childhood if you do not mind" Well I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California I'm the only childhood I practically lived a great childhood until my dad died when I was 14 I began to get teary eyed but I quickly held them back. When he died things were hard for my mother and I we lost our home so we had to move in with my dad's brother. At first things were good he was really nice to us my life got back on track for two years then one day while my mom was walking to the grocery store a drunk driver hit and killed her. I cleared my throat uh... Well it was hard getting over it I was only 16 with two deceased parents my uncle came home one day really drunk he walked into my room and that was when all the rape began. It lasted for a whole year I went through some papers in my uncles office and I came across my Aunt Bessie's number I called her and told her everything that happened. She flew down here the next day we turned him in and I moved to Miami with her one day I felt really sick so I rode the bus to the hospital and I found out I was pregnant and going into labor and of course it was my uncle's child other family members wanted me to give him up for adoption saying he was born in sin but both I and Aunt Bessie wanted to keep him and that's just what we did. Things were good I enjoyed being a mother but o found out my aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer she could no longer work bills started to come in I got a job at McDonald's but that 7.25$ was not helping at all. My bestfriend suggested I work with her I became a stripper at 17 no I wasn't proud but its like I had no choice fast easy money it put me through school helped me take care of my aunt and son. I looked st her, her face showed a blank expression I know she was shocked she took off her glasses and put her hand on top of mines " you're a strong young lady no matter what happened you stayed strong". The rest of the meeting we discussed how the case would go I was very tired once we got home I went straight to bed.
