i sat with cailee and lorena in the dining hall of the hotel, eating our complimentary breakfast.

"do you know how badly i've been craving some hotel waffles?" i said to the girls.

cailee laughed, her eyes shining with humor. "is hotel food really that much of a delicacy to you, kami?"

lorena chimed in, "well, when you're used to eating gourmet food all the time, hotel food probably seems like a 5-star meal."

i shook my head which was followed by a laugh. "i don't eat gourmet food all the time, only on special occasions really."

lorena raised one of her eyebrows, "and what exactly do you consider a special occasion?" she inquired with clear disbelief.

i thought about it for a moment before answering. "weddings, birthdays, graduations. and sometimes when i want to reward myself, i'll treat myself to a nice restaurant." i said.

"that sounds like quite often to me." cailee teased.

i rolled my eyes. "lorena, is this a step up from usc's food?"

"it's a thousand steps up! no offense to usc but you guys seriously need to work on your dining hall." she said bluntly.

cailee nodded in agreement as she scooped more eggs onto her plate. "i second that. some of the food is inedible and i'm not even being dramatic."

"i forgot you went to usc!" i said to cailee.

she nodded and laughed softly. "yeah, i went there all four years. it was actually pretty fun...the parties and the sororities are pretty great."

i grinned. "the sorority life does sound pretty fun. believe it or not, at ucla i was all about work."

"no way. i don't believe it." cailee said with a smirk. "i bet you got up to no good during your time at ucla."

i shrugged. "not really, i partied every now and then but i was always into my studies."

cailee leaned back in her seat, still smirking. "so what you're saying is you were a total bore in college?" she asked with a playful tone.

lorena snickered at her comment.

i rolled my eyes. "moving on, what time do i have to be at the shoot for the ad?" i asked lorena.

she picked up her phone from the table where it was resting and tapped on the screen. "around one." she said before looking over at me. "are you nervous?"

i nodded, a pit forming in my stomach just thinking about the shoot. "yup, a bit nervous." i said, the tone in my voice giving away my nervousness.

lorena grinned, clearly sensing that i was feeling a little uneasy. "there's nothing to be nervous about, kami. you've done shoots before. this'll be a breeze."

"she's nervous because she doesn't know who the guy will be." cailee chipped in.

i shot cailee a glare, feeling a little annoyed that she had put me on the spot like that. "cailee!" i said, my voice stern.

she simply shrugged in response. "it's the truth!"

i shook my head and rolled my eyes. "you're such a little brat sometimes." i mumbled.

cailee just grinned in response before turning her attention back to her waffles before looking at lorena, "wait, why aren't you in school? it's september and you're a college student." cailee said looking at lorena.
