'Hey, what about this one? I swear if you reject this one I'll chop your balls off.' Jane threatens as she holds up a short dark green dress.
I look at it and it looks like it's been dipped out of a sewer. 'Honestly speaking,' I begin, 'I don't have balls so if you want to chop them off you can because this one sucks shit.' I deadpan. She groans in frustration. It's been almost forty five minutes that we're wandering in the shopping mall like complete idiots and my legs have literally refused to hold me anymore. My back hurts and i sit down on a stool in the shop where Jane is aggressively looking for the perfect dress.
I'm looking one for myself too, because this my first prom with a date, hot date. I really want to look good, no i want to look perfect. Any dress that i choose, i need to make sure that i can pull it off really well because i want to impress Harry. I'm really excited for the big night though. I know its like almost three weeks away, but the thrill is really taking a crescendo everyday. I just hope that everything goes the same way that i have imagined it to be.
I sip my water bottle as i call out her name, 'Jane, i think this shop doesn't have good variety, we could always check the next one.' I request.
She steps out of the changing room and i stop dead in my tracks. My mouth is open so wide that i think i have attracted a million flies already. JANE LOOKS FLAWLESS.
She's wearing this long black dress, backless with a sequenced front till her waist. It has a big red flower on the belt looping the waist and even though its simple, it looks so stunning on her.'Woah. You look stunning!' I almost yell and jump. I literally can't get my eyes off the beautiful dress she's wearing.
'Phew. Thank God you liked it. This is the one then?' She beams and i nod. She picks a pair of read high heels and a red clutch to add contrast and elegance to her outfit. And the fact that Jane is absolutely gorgeous, is a bonus. 'I'm sure Kyle will go into a cardiac arrest when he sees you all dolled up into such a glamorous lady that night!' I whisper and she blushes. Its so adorable seeing my best friend blush. I think its the little moments of joy and love that can make you all gleeful and full of bliss. She pays for her dress and we walk out of the shop. 'Now its time we get you a sexy dress?' Jane says and i nod in disagreement. 'No Jane, i think its too late and I'm tired. I should head home.' I request. She glares at me and says, 'No. We aren't leaving until we get something. So shutup and walk.' She says before walking straight infront of me swinging her shopping bags. Its no use arguing with her because in the end she's going to win, so its better to surrender on time.
We look for a dress for myself for another twenty minutes and we've already covered seven shops. My legs are dead and my back hurts a lot, but Jane looks fresh as ever. Perks of being a shopaholic.
'This is the last shop, Jane.' I glare at her, 'If we don't find something here we're leaving. Okay?'
'Fine. Boring person.' She remarks as i roll my eyes. She covers the other side while i look on this side. I have to admit, they have a lot of pretty dresses here but i can't find 'the one' from where it would be hard to get my eyes off. I pick up two dresses, one is a black one and the other is a navy blue one. I don't want to pick black because Jane already has, the Navy blue looks fine. I hang it on my shoulder and proceed to the changing room. I try the navy blue one, it looks very ordinary, its just plain velvet and full length and i don't think it looks glamorous. Rejected.'Hey Stace?' Jane asks from outside the try room. 'I have four dresses in my hand, I'm gonna send you in each dress one by one and you try them on, yeah?'
'Okay' I call out from the other end.I half open the door and she hands me a yellow dress. Ew. Yellow on prom? Gross. I still try that on and i look like a waitress. No kidding.
She hands me a baby pink one next. Its a floor-length dress with baby pink roses everywhere. Its cute, but ordinary. And i don't want to look ordinary that night.
