After the first ten minutes Roger decided to get up and clean the house. He thought that Rich would appreciate it if they didn’t have to pay for a cleaning fee. Plus, it helps calm him down.
Simon had already moved to the floor, due to being uncomfortable. He sat right in front of John. John decided to play a game. He would kick Simon every time James Bond said his own name. He stopped counting after the 10th kick. Simon noticed the empty space on the couch, left from Roger.

“Bond’s the name…”

John kicked him again. Simon moved to the couch and, with no hesitation, slapped John as hard as he could on the thigh.
“Ow!” John yelled.
“Shhh!” Andy shushed quickly. John glared at Simon as he gently rubbed where Simon had hit him.

“Yes, I get it from the doorman at the Russian embassy. Amongst certain other things…”

Simon took his focus away from the movie to look around the room and at the others, who were all glued to the TV screen, Except for Nick who had already fallen asleep. Simon couldn’t help but think that Nick looked so peaceful when he slept. He was curled into a ball, a tight one at that, and his lips formed a line that curved slightly upwards. Looking at him made Simon discover how tired he was as well.

“No, this time I’m taking you. I want some information. I want it now…”

Simon struggled to keep his eyes open. Every blink became longer and longer each time. Until, eventually, he didn’t have the strength to keep them open anymore. He fell asleep, on John's shoulder.

“Oh no, I like sake. Especially when it’s served at the correct temperature…”

When John noticed that Simon had fallen asleep, he looked up at the clock behind the TV. It was only 9:30. He glanced over at Nick. Asleep. He glanced over at Andy. He was extremely engaged in the movie. He had scooted the chair closer to the screen and was subtly smiling.

“...never do anything for yourself when someone could do it for you..”

John, unlike Simon, went to sleep voluntarily. He laid his head on Simon’s and he was out faster than light. Andy realised during a commercial break, that everyone else had fallen asleep. Huh… I think they're getting old, he joked to himself.
A slight creak distracted Andy from his thoughts. In came Roger. He had cleaned the entire kitchen and he had swept the hallway between where the roadies were staying and the living room.
They locked eyes. Andy put his finger on his lips then pointed at the sleeping crew. Roger gave a soft smile and approached the armchair opposite of Andy’s. He sat down and started to watch the movie with Andy.

“We are being chased by gunmen in a black sedan. I’m heading south for highway 2…”

As the last of the band drifted off to sleep, a strange stillness swallowed the room. No one can ever know what happens tomorrow, but usually they can guess. Tomorrow Duran Duran has their concert in Sydney at 9 o’clock on Saturday, December 24th, 1983. Who knows what will happen…

“Look, 007, I’ve had a long and tiring journey, probably to no purpose. I’m in no mood for your juvenile quips.”
