When the World Listens - Duran Duran

Chapter 4, Part 1 - Minor Setback

Nick awakened with a sharp inhale. His first thought? What time is it? He looks up at the clock. 6 AM?! That is way too early. He looks for his band mates next. John, Roger, and Simon were still peacefully asleep. That’s strange. I could have sworn I fell asleep on the couch. Andy had gone. He must be in the bathroom or something… Wait. Nick did a double take. Simon and John had gotten a lot closer during the night. Like a lot closer. They were practically on top of each other. Nick rushed to get his camera. He snapped a couple of photos while giggling to himself. I am so gonna make fun of them for this.
Nick heard the creak of the door opening. Must be Andy. He put his camera down on the coffee table.
“Morning, Andy,” the person who entered the door said.
Andy? Is he messing with me?
Nick looked up at the person who had just walked into the room. He let out a blood-curdling scream and toppled over like someone had shoved him to the floor.
It’s me! The man who walked into the room was me!
“Woah, Andy, are you ok? Did I scare you that bad?” said the other Nick.
Obviously Nick’s scream woke everyone up. Their focus was all on Andy, who was now cowering behind the TV.
“What’s all this screaming about?” Simon asked, agitated. Roger and Andy rushed to get off of each other once they realised they were a little too close.
Roger was thinking: How did I end up on John?
Andy was thinking: Why is Simon on top of me?
Andy looked behind the couch where the other Nick was standing. When John saw him, he let out a yelp and jumped back.
“What?” Andy said to the petrified John. Simon looked at Andy to see what John was so scared of. He too froze where he sat, which happened to be the armchair. I didn’t fall asleep in the armchair…
Everyone stayed in a threatening silence, except for the sound of Nick, or rather Andy, sobbing.
It was becoming increasingly obvious what had happened. They had all swapped bodies.
