"You're leaving?"

Her bedroom voice stopped me from walking out of her room. I cleared my throat and nodded my head.

""I have a meeting I need to attend."

She gets up from the bed and combs her hair. "What about me?"

"My housekeeper is coming over, and I already informed her to look after you while I'm away. Dr. Alvez will also come here to check up on you, so worry not because you won't be alone."

"What time are you coming back?"

Before I left the house, I instructed the guards to keep her safe and not let her go out alone if she insisted despite being injured.

I arrive at the company just in time. My face lit up after seeing my siblings, but we just greeted each other briefly because the meetings were about to start.

My eyes landed on my parents across the room. I just stare at them, not knowing what to say because it's been awhile since the last time I saw them. Mom and Dad always have that cold expression and the thick, heavy aura around them. Just by looking at them, you would instantly tell that they're not really nice. Good thing none of us inherited that.

"Miss Sinclair."

"Y-Yes?"

The presenter in front signaled for me to stand. I swallowed hard when I noticed that everyone's eyes were on me. This is what I hate most about getting everyone's attention. Their judgmental stare that I can't stomach.

Before opening my mouth to start with my presentation, I met my father's eyes. He's staring at me seriously while tapping his finger on top of the folder in front of him. My mother, on the other hand, was also looking at me; her expression was blank. The only support I get is from my siblings, who're secretly cheering me up by giving me a nod and smile.

This is it. I am a Sinclair and I got this.

I'm busy accepting congratulations from the people inside the conference room. My presentation went well, and I feel overwhelmed seeing everyone clapping for me.

"I see you have a long way to go. Today's presentation was one of the best I saw so far. No doubt, you're indeed a Sinclair's heiress." - Mr. Glasses said. Ah, sorry for calling him like that because I don't know him at all.

I smile gently. "Thank you, Sir!"

"Kenny, go directly to my office when you're done here." - It was my father's chilling voice that made my smile fade.

I look at him, but he's already walking away. My feet stepped back when, out of nowhere, I received a hug from my mother. I didn't notice her coming my way.
