"Hey girl hey." Amanda grinned as she walked into the locker room.
"Hey. Thanks again for switching shifts with me." I beamed, rubbing a quick coat of deodorant on. "Five can't come soon enough."
"You say that like you've been here all day." She snorted, the smile not meeting her eyes. "Are you doing okay? You know...since the incident?"
Parker had been out on unpaid leave for the last couple of days, and he had returned today. Unfortunately he was working the opening shift, so I was stuck with him. The good thing was that he kept his distance, and only came to me if it was work related. The staff alone was on edge with him around me. Even our bouncer, Teddy. He had connections and told me to give a signal if anything else happened. I was going to ask what he meant, but I'm sure I knew the answer.
Swallowing, I nodded. "Yeah, I'm doing alright. It's been nice not having him around as much lately." I breathed a sigh of relief. "I'll just be glad when they finally tell him that he's fired. Then I won't have to see his ass again. But you didn't hear it from me." I winked.
Smirking, Amanda roped me into a hug, squeezing my shoulders. Her mouth close to my ear, she whispered some words I never expected to hear from her.
"You're not the only one that has had encounters like this with him. Because of you, they were voiced as well."
My body then froze as she pulled away from me. WInking, she took off on her heels and dashed out of the locker room, letting the door squeak shut. Leaving me alone in the loud, yet quietness of the locker room.
Blinking back the tears threatening to fall over, I snagged my belongings.
You're not the only one who has had encounters like this. What could that even mean? Was she talking about her self or someone else? Clocking out, I had just stuffed my time card in its pouch before the last person I wanted to see swung around the corner.
"Got a second?" Parker asked. "I need to see you in my office."
"For real this time or are you going to corner me again?" I seethed, my lip curled in disgust. "I have somewhere to be."
"Two minutes. That's all." Parker assured. "It is work related."
Turning on his heel, Parker made his way back to the office, and there was a pile of uneasiness that settled in my stomach. The hairs on the back of my neck stood on end, as I was unsure of what to do. But before I could really decide, my brain was making my feet carry my body to the back. Headed to Parker's office.
Reaching the door, Parker was already sitting down behind his desk and he was holding something rectangular, and white. Walking in, I took two steps, crossing arms.
"You can sit down." Parker murmerme. Hsi eyes met mine, and I didn't move.
"What do you need to see me for?" I sighed. "Two minutes started when I walked in here. I have places to be."
Clearing his throat, Parker was hesitant, then the envelope he was holding was placed on his desk and slid across to me. Leaning forward, I could tell it had my name sketched on it, and in sloppy handwriting. More than likely it was his.
Placing it on his desk, he slid the envelope over to me, and leaned back into his chair. Before Icould voice what the hell was going on, Parker beat me to it.
"I wanted to apologize for the way I had acted towards you a week ago. It was disrespectful and not to mention terrible someone with my authority to come onto you the way that I did. Initially I had thought you were into me, being a flirt and all-"
