"I think we should work on the name bit." Merla mentioned to Hermione as they walked up to the seventh floor. "No hate to Professor Dumbledore but the name is just a bit much."

Hermione laughed. "You can call it the DA. Or whatever you would like." She pulled Merla into her side to whisper. "Just keep it a secret."

"Hmm." Merla nodded. "Where are we going?"

"Here actually." Hermione stood in front of a tapestry. "Have you ever heard of the room of requirements?" Merla nodded. She's been looking for it since her first year, she always just assumed it was a myth.

Hermione walked back and forth opposite the wall of the tapestry, and slowly a door was created. Hermione walked in and beckoned Merla in. "We're here!" Hermione called out to the other students.

Merla took in the room, it was large and empty. Seeming to be the perfect place to teach students how to kill each other.  Kids from three out of the four houses were here. "What's she doing here?" A hufflepuff boy crossed his arms.

"She's here to teach us." Harry smiled at Merla. "Look everyone I know you may think I'm some sort of powerful wizard but the truth is I'm not. I'm normal. Just like all of you." He turned and pointed at the only Slytherin in the room. "But Merla is different. She is better at dueling then most of us in this room combined."

Hermione placed her hand on the small of Merla's back. "And she so graciously is giving us the time of day to help us learn."

The Hufflepuff boy sighed. "I mean she is friends with Cedric and Kara." The other Hufflepuffs nodded along. "And Cho Chang." A ravenclaw called out. Merla turned and saw it was actually Cho Chang. She waved shyly to Merla.

"Well then. The floor is yours." Harry and Hermione walked off to the side next to Ron. Merla looked a little nervous. They didn't really explain what she would be doing, just that they needed her help.

"Oh okay." She cleared her throat. "Well I suppose something most adult wizards never learn is how to protect themselves. And the most efficient way to protect yourselves is with a shield. Protego is a simple yet very effective."

She turned to Harry. He stood up straight. "Yes?"

"Hit me."

"With my fist?" He shuffled his feet.

Merla shook her head. "No, stupefy. You know how to cast that right?"

He puffed his chest. "Of course." He pulled out his wand and pointed it at Merla. "Are you not going to get into fighting position?"

She shook her head, her hands were at her side. "No. Why would I? Everyone step back a step or two." The gathered students took multiple steps back.

Harry shrugged. He pointed his wand at Merla. "Stupefy!"
