The Quiet One

    While the ninja crew were settled on the top deck repairing the Bounty's damaged thrusters (which were totally not her fault), Perennial was given the noble task of 'stay there and don't touch anything'. Still, they were asking a lot from her. It wasn't like she could do much with darned vengestone handcuffs on anyway, so she sat down on the cold wooden boards of the large ship and started to meditate.

    Are the ninja right? Could they really train her better than Lord Garmadon could? Lord Garmadon's return could help her improve the usage of her powers. But what was stopping him from refusing to train someone as weak and uncoordinated as she was? The ninja were always welcoming her with open arms, even if they were a bit icy now due to the fact that she accidentally-on-purpose wrecked their home.

    Perennial always had a choice, but sometimes the right ones are buried in the dirt, bad ones lying on top and easier to get to. Not the right choice, but the easiest. 

    But the bigger question was, was she doing the right thing for her own selfish needs? Bringing the destruction of the world, only so she could gain more control of herself? She shook her head. 

    After pondering over her thoughts for a bit, Perennial came to a solid conclusion. Harumi was more seeing her as a subject rather than a partner, and she was to bring back the Dark Lord, who was more likely to destroy her rather than help her. Harumi was only using Perennial like a tool, to carve out a path where only destruction could flow.

    Sometimes the right path isn't smooth, but it's the people you're with that makes it worthwhile.

    Why did Harumi wish for his return? Perennial didn't want to know. That girl was once humane, but after meeting power and revenge for the first time, she changed. First impressions matter, and evil thoughts had already corrupted Harumi. With a clearer head and a heavy heart, Y/N shakily stood up (with quite a bit of effort due to her chained hands,) and carefully climbed up to the top deck, her mind set on helping the ninja.

    "Absolutely not," the Master of Fire forcefully spat in her face, after Y/N requested if she could do anything to help put the ship back to its original working order. She blinked, bewildered. Sure, she was expecting a refusal, but not as blunt as this. "What if you ruin everything again? And why do you suddenly want to help us?"

    "Change of heart, change of mind. Is there anything I can do to prove myself?" Nya smiled at her, warmth in her dark eyes. She had already forgiven her a long time ago. 

    When you're left with no option, you can feel stuck, making bad decisions, but those who are understanding are those you should stay with.

    "You made the right choice, Y/N. For starters, why don't you tell us about yourself?"

    "Well, once upon a time, I had parents, yay. Long story short, parents find out I have freaky powers, then they get all freaked out, threw me out of the house, thus giving me trauma. Hehe." Y/N replied.

    "Wait," The Master of Lightning curiously spoke up. "Wouldn't one of your parents have had powers as well? Or at least, one of your ancestors?" Y/N shook her head.

    "My powers aren't inherited," she explained. "I think I was chosen for it."

    "Chosen?" the ninja in red asked, slowly warming up to having the now ex-villainess around. "I've never heard of that before." The Ice ninja agreed with his brother.

    "There are no records of Elemental Masters getting chosen for their power. And it doesn't explain how they're exactly the same as Lloyd's." Y/N's head hung low.

    "I think I might have a theory on that, but I'll need to consult some scrolls first." 

    An awkward silence followed, and then an all-familiar holler pierced the air around them. They were close, too close. Samurai X climbed into her suit to try and slow the Sons of Garmadon down, and everyone else scrambled to the various controls in an attempt to turn the engine back on. In the ruckus, the Earth ninja coughed, drawing everyone's attention.

    "If you want to gain our trust, you can start by telling us who the Quiet One is," he slyly requested. Y/N's green and gold eyes widened.

    "Oh, she's with the Green ninja right now," she informed him.

    "Oh, ok," the Lightning ninja said, carrying a box of tools across the deck, then dropping it onto the Fire ninja's foot. "Wait, what."

    "Yeah. It's Harumi. Wasn't it always obvious?" she asked. 

    As the words finally sunk in, Nya's eyes widened in surprise.

    "Harumi's the Quiet One?" she cried. The Ice ninja's eyes widened in alarm.

    "We must warn Lloyd, immediately!" Nya rushed to the main controls, where a sai blocked her path, causing Y/N to hiss in hatred.

    "Uh uh uh, I wouldn't do that if I were you," Ultra Violet cooed. Y/N glanced around the ship, realizing they were surrounded, at least three to one. "The Quiet One wouldn't like that," Ultra's cruel beady eyes were fixed onto her green and gold ones, and Y/N's blood ran cold.

    They knew of her betrayal now, and they didn't look happy.

    "Now would be a great time to get me out of these cuffs!" she called out, and the Master of Ice was quick to cast ice over the chain and break her free. With a holler, her ex-allies emerged from every angle of her peripheral vision, and Y/N leaped into the fight, swiping her sai from a table and lunging at the nearest gangster.

    Y/N was a great addition to the new team, but even with the extra help, the ninja were quickly surrounded, and she knew they were doomed once Mr. E and Killow pulled out two very familiar masks, one red, the other orange.

    There was no way out of this now.

erm. yes i know this chapter is so short, this episode just didn't have any ideal moments where Perennial fitted in, enjoy those quotes i made off the top of my head. you guys might be thinking 'where does the lloyd x reader come in?' and well this story focusses more on plot rather than romance, and its a very slow slowburn, but i can guarantee you that y/n and lloyd will end up together, heck they were destined to be together.

lmao i finished this at midnight on a wednesday, when my publish day is usually sunday. this book is just my boredom buster ig
