hi guys. i can explain.
i only had just enough chapters in the archives to publish for the holidays, and then i couldnt even work on new ones because my devices were confiscated. first week of school, i was bombarded with my schools market week, and i was busy all week making stock and all that jazz. second week, i was taken over by a science project, a maori presentation, missing chinese, english and math homework. also, tomorrows my athletics day :/ i only published today since in nz its labour day, so technically, the weekend is not over yet
so yeah, busy busy, but hopefully i can get a couple more chapters out. after all, its only four more episodes until the end of season 2.

The previous night left Y/N in a bundle of worries and anticipation. Ras had weaved an intricate web of deceit and manipulation, and Arin was the innocent fly now trapped with no way out. It was hopeless.
Throughout the course of the next through days, her hours were spent training with Nokt and Cinder to perfect her shatterspin, and competing in match after match against capable opponents, each tougher than the last. She found herself regularly searching for Euphrasia's comfort, reminiscing over old days in the Cloud Kingdom library reading up on the ninja's latest adventures. How the years had gone by so quickly, Y/N didn't know, but we can't dwell on the yesterday if today is the tomorrow.
Her thoughts lingered on the ninja as she spotted them on the opposite side of the arena, smiling despite all the hurt, all the pain they were feeling about Jay, Kai, Pixal, Wu...

By the next round, Cole, the Earth ninja, was knocked out by Frak, somehow. She wasn't one to pick sides, especially against her own teammate, but something was terribly wrong with this tournament, and it was something far more sinister than just a little tinkering with the challenges.
Her mismatched eyes scanned the arena as Roby called Nya and Nokt to fight, however, her instinct kept telling her to keep an eye out for the young Gamesmaster and his uncle. After all, they did have the most authority in this Tournament. Maybe Arin had discovered something new; she had half a mind to talk to him later that day.
Y/N watched the Water ninja and the mysterious shatterspin warrior march onto the arena, both their eyes blazing with hate and determination.
Nya kicked off the match with a stunning display of her azure coloured spinjitzu tornado, leaving Y/N a cheering mess.
"I have have a mind to tape that loudmouth of yours," Lord Ras grumbled, only fueling her determination. If she couldn't be a part of her previous allies, she could very much cheer them on.
Nya continued to take the lead, shooting blast after blast of water at Nokt, who struggled to dodge her strong attacks. The first holographic crystal appeared just a few seconds later, where both fighters leapt forward to grab. Only Nokt was successful, slamming his foot into Nya's side and grabbing the crystal as his own.
"No- I mean, yeah, go Nokt, or whatever." Y/N grumbled, avoiding Lord Ras' glare, which Y/N rightfully returned.
"I was expecting the other member of your family!" Nokt taunted the ninja.
"You think Kai was tough? You've never seen me when I'm mad!" Nya bit back, her voice icy and laced with pure loathe.
"Yeah girl! Put him in his pla- Oh my FSM, Ras, stop kicking me!"
And the next crystal was collected by Nya.
The intense fight raged on, both fighters seemingly matched in skill, precision and power. Nokt stomped his foot two times, tiny red shockwaves of pure shatterspin ringing out from his foot, filling Y/N with inspiration. She aspired to possess the ability to perform perfect shatterspin, like Cinder and Nokt, but currently she still had to use a wolf mask. Shatterspin filled her with a power unlike any she felt before, even more so than spinjitzu ever did. It was weird, but hey, at least it made her stronger.
Y/N watched in anticipation as shatterspin fought rising dragon, the battle far more tense than it had been mere minutes ago.
"Come on, Nya..." Y/N whispered, chewing her nails in suspense. And with bitter bursts of water and lightning, the Water ninja's hands reached for the final purple crystal-
"Huh?" The entire stadium was in disbelief as its seemingly blipped out of existence, appearing beside Nokt, who was the one to collect it. And just like that, Nya was out.
"No way that's fair!" Y/N growled as soon as a smug Nokt rejoined the team. "How did that even happen? Nya was about to grab it! That-"
"Ahh, Perennial," Cinder cooed, looping an arm around her shoulders with a smugness like no other. "But you saw - Nokt won, fair and square! He was the one to touch the last crystal, you're probably just blinded by your love for your past friends."
"You'll be blinded once I punch you in the face!"
💚💛
Turns out she didn't need to punch the cocky Master of Smoke at all; he got his own butt-trashing from the new ninja Sora, Master of Technology. Y/N couldn't keep in her cackles as he returned to them with his hair slightly singed and an ego greatly bruised.
"And now, the match you have all secretly been waiting for; Lloyd, Master of Energy, versus Perennial, also the Master of Energy!" Jumping slightly at the mention of her name, Y/N slowly shuffled onto the arena, awkwardly avoiding Lloyd's glistening green eyes, shining in perfect harmony with his green ninja gi.
"Y/N! What are you even doing with Ras? Don't you know he's evil?" he asked, staring at her with fire in his words. "I guess it's just like old times, huh? You and me, on opposite sides."
"We were always meant to be opposed, Lloyd! Didn't Misako tell you?" she spat at him. His pathetic naive look nearly made her burst out laughing.
"Tell me what? I don't even know where she is, after the Merge."
"Misako was supposed to tell you this." She threw a scroll at him, the very scroll from the museum that night, when she had discovered her fate with the Green ninja. Over the many years she'd been away, Misako had been kind enough to send multiple scrolls and newspapers telling stories of the ninja's latest adventures, including the scroll about her and Lloyd. "Now, if you're done, we have to fight now." Lloyd read the scroll with widened eyes, as the rest of the arena whispered and groaned at the delayed fight.
"You and me. We're gonna have a talk after this."
And as the golden bell rang out, he leapt forward, hands blazing with pure green energy.
💚💛
Y/N left the arena, dazed and angry to have been beaten by Lloyd. Her shatterspin wasn't nearly powerful enough to battle his rising dragon, and now her power was taken away for no reason, since he already possessed her power. Although, her power wasn't the only thing she could fight with.
She entered the empty training area, her two trusty sai in her hands.
