Y/N followed her new team into the battle arena where all the other Elemental Masters were preparing and started to spar with Jay. Lord Ras' extensive training had drained her out well enough, and her mind was clearly elsewhere as she dodged his attacks.
"Oh, come on, Perennial!" he complained, throwing his hands up in the air. "You can at least fight back!"
"Sorry, sorry," she apologized, looking around the arena. "Thought I saw a familiar face..." A messy bun caught her eye, and she leapt onto its owner. "Euphrasia?!" The figure turned around, shock all over her face, before the tears started falling.
"Y/N!" she shrieked. "I am so happy to see you!" The reunion was rather short lived, Lord Ras appearing from nowhere and dragging Y/N aside.
"Perennial," he growled. "You're here to win the tournament, not make friends." She rolled her eyes at her master.
"It's not making friends if I was already friends with them, genius. Geez." Ras was clearly not happy with her response, slamming her into the wall.
"You will do as I say, if you still want a master. You've already improved since I recruited you. Don't make me regret it." He dropped her to the ground and stalked off, Euphrasia rushing to her aid.
"Y/N! Why are you on Ras' team! He's evil! He tried to sacrifice me for some kind of ritual!" Y/N blinked at her.
"Sure, he has anger issues from time to time, but he's a real good teacher! Relax, not like I'm going to be sacrificing anyone soon." Y/N took a deep breath, turning serious. "I'll stay on the team until I'm able to reach my true potential or at least until this is over. That's my main goal here, not winning." Euphrasia smiled, satisfied with her response.
